Giles Edward-N directs a fantastical period piece for Corella, recreating famous work from photographers Enzo Sellerio, Michael Ochs and Diane Arbus in the video for Flood.Highlighting the fashion and punk aesthetic from the 1940s through to the '70s, each vignette crescendos into life as the flood of the chorus unfolds.DoP Jed Darlington-Roberts cleverly recreates photographic lighting setups and composition to lean into this concept, and the use of an ornate frame to envelope the subject across the vignettes adds an extra textural dimension.

Thomas Davis directs an enigmatic promo for punk rocker Joe Unknown's gAng. Standing in front of a mirror in a theatrical backstage area, we see a young woman grab a pair of clippers and shave her hair off, as the camera crawls in and out, exploring the space. In the corner of the room, we see Joe Unknown in an armchair, half-watching TV and half-watching the girl shave her head. It's a remarkably simple yet powerful concept, that leaves plenty to the imagination - including the context of the situation.

Jasper Cable-Alexander leads us into the world of motorbikes and youth culture, in his raucous promo for Gretel Hänlyn.The aptly-titled Motorbike sees Hänlyn slowly introduced into the biker community, first sat in a roadside café alongside a loved-up pair of older biker-punks (with a passing resemblance to Sid & Nancy), and then joined by a whole gang of bikers circling her performance setup outside. It's a slightly dystopian, offbeat vision, but one that suits the genre-mashing track, and highlights the artist's playful wild side.

Brandon Hoeg directs a thought-provoking promo for Chicago natives Sincere Engineer. Trapped in an empty house, vocalist Deanna is devoid of all material possessions - aside from her collection of TVs.Drawn into the screens, she finds herself unable to look away or release her mind from the relentless media cycle. She thinks of her band performing without her and her fear of missing out sinks in.A feeling of isolation permeates every frame of this concept, whilst DoP Ryan Zeller's use of space and composition creates an unnerving yet familiar vibe. Especially relatable given the repetitive cycle of lockdown and being torn away from the near future we planned, the video is an understated triumph, and a perfect fit to the angsty soundtrack.
