Will Ainsworth and Che Lingo co-direct an evocative, carefree promo for Lingo's Eyes On The Prize. Structured as a day in the life of five friends on an estate in South London, Ainsworth reminisces about childhood and what it was like to wake up and enjoy the weekend without any cares or worries.The documentary-style cinematography adds an authentic flair to the vignettes, which reflect the innocence of youth, and timeless memories we are all able to connect to.

Femi Ladi directs a thought-provoking promo for Guvna B and D Double E. The video for Very Original is shot in an impressive one-take, following both artists around a London housing estate as they perform in a continuous Steadicam shot. Created in support of Power The Fight UK - a charity which aims to empower communities to end youth violence - the visual has a gritty yet optimistic aesthetic, which ends with the pair transforming into a swarm of butterflies as local kids watch on from the rooftop.The use of 35mm grain overlays and a slightly tinted grade adds a dreamy tinge to the visual, helping align the message with one of hope and progress. And the estate location is just as important, representing the aspiration and potential of the youth that live there. With the single Steadicam shot highlighting the terrific performances by Guvna B and D Double E, this is very impactful work from Femi Ladi and team.

Novelist is unphased by the drama circling around him, in Ehsan's fiery promo for Calm. Shot last year and released to coincide with the grime star's 24th birthday, the hypnotic visual uses burning film overlays and erratic editing to convey a growing sense of drama and suspense as Novelist casually walks the nighttime streets of London. Ehsan intercuts Novelist's unruffled presence with cutaways of curious, and increasingly anxious bystanders, aware that something big is about to ignite. It's a mesmerising visual, elevated by the artist's confident performance, DoP James Henry's camerawork, and Ehsan's fusion of gritty reality with otherworldly elements. A very different beast to the director's comedic video for Unknown P's Piers Morgan, released late last last year, but just as impressive.
