New York-based creative duo Follow The Leader direct a surreal drama for Cereus Bright - the Knoxville-based folk-rock outfit led by singer-songwriter Tyler Anthony - where a young man makes a series of choices, with increasingly painful results. Jared Broome plays the young man who meets an enigmatic masked woman in a liminal office space and offered an object, which leads to a dramatic episode. In this dreamlike series of emotive vignettes, the character is taken through past trauma and memories, before eventually breaking the cycle and returning to reality again. It's a thought-provoking concept, beautifully realised in the style of a classic David Lynch movie, with careful attention to design and cinematography giving it a glossy, cinematic vibe, aligned with a nightmarish sense of menace.
