Then Jesy finds herself becoming the perfect 60s housewife - while her young husband is still out on the town...If the milieu in which the video is set, recollecting cinematic recreations of the world of The Krays, offers a suggestion of what eventually happens to Jesy, the climax is genuinely powerful - and painfully realistic. People have put real thought into this video and it shows. Sam Nutt directs a cinematic promo in aid of charity Help Musicians.The atmospheric promo sees a selection of talented artists perform in the striking Asylum Chapel in Peckham, coming together to highlight the important work that the charity do to help musicians in times of crisis. A collaboration between composer Jan Willem de With, Laura and Sarah Ayoub and Help Musicians UK, the video is breathtakingly executed, and shines a spotlight on the magic behind the music. "HelpMusiciansUK have recently learnt through a survey that 67% of musicians feel that their mental health is worse than it was before the pandemic with more considering leaving the music industry for good, and turning to Music Minds Matter for therapeutic support," the charity explain in the YouTube description. "This film aims to bring attention to the important work Help Musicians does to help musicians across times of crisis, by reflecting the idea of musicians coming together in a sheltered place. Depzman, aka Joshua Ribera, a rapper who was stabbed to death aged 18 in 2013, comes back to life in this emotional music video using Deepfake technology, directed by directing duo BRIGHTNIGHT.After opening with a short series of videos of the young rapper performing and his breakout on YouTube, the video then displays a message that gives context to the project - co-commissioned by The Joshua Ribera Foundation, the charity that combats knife crime in his name, and SBTV - and how it came about. BRIGHTNIGHT came up with the idea and pitched it to the charity, in partnership with advertising agency McCann London. The team recreated Depzman using Deepfake video technology and a rapper body double who could lip sync the lyrics and mimic Depz’s characteristic movement, down to the movement of the head and hands.In conjunction with the film, an original track with digitally manipulated vocals and a classic 140bmp grime beat were produced. Rapper ShadowCV ghostwrote the lyrics with Alison Cope, Depzman’s mum, and took inspiration from Depz’s life story and his old videos. Some of his old lyrics were also incorporated into the song.“Deepfake technology gets a lot of criticism in the news but we wanted to show that it can be used for good," say BRIGHTNIGHT. Absorbing and poignant, the video is a standout use of the technology, and an example of the good that can come from creative collaboration.

Luke Brookner has created and directed one of two original films for leading children’s bereavement charity Grief Encounter, for Children’s Grief Awareness Week (CGAW).Luke has co-written I Got Through, which was released this week alongside well-known London poet, spoken word artist and mental health advocate Hussain Manawer, whose mother died three years ago.Luke’s parents passed away before he was eight years old. Using inspiration from real experiences of bereaved children and young people - including Joe Bellman, 20, who features in the film and experienced the death of his mother only a year ago - the film follows the milestones and moments which cause isolation in grief. Luke, Hussain and Joe hope the film will give voice to moments a young bereaved person finds tough, but often cannot say.The video is heartachingly raw and emotional, and is shot in an intimate, documentary-style fashion. The range of characters and situations represents the wide-ranging effect grief has on our communities, whilst simultaneously giving these people a voice and platform. This is a superb film, with a poignant and important message.

Charles De Meyer explores the lives of Brazil’s indigenous tribes, in his latest visual for Gojira. The powerful video for Amazonia features a dynamic performance - shot by De Meyer - interwoven with footage shot by multiple filmmakers, including Vincent Moon, Hauxplay, Jennifer Kumiko Hayashi, and Midia Ninja. Presenting an unfiltered representation of the struggles and hardships the tribes are forced to endure, the video and track are a call for unity, backed up by an initiative the band have set up. As Charles De Meyer explains below, as part of a larger fundraising campaign, proceeds from Amazonia will benefit The Articulation of Indigenous Peoples of Brazil (APIB), an organisation that advocates for the environmental and cultural rights of indigenous Amazonian tribes "who have suffered immensely - victims of deforestation, land loss, forced labor, violence, and harassment."

Daniel Broadley explores how we communicate under lockdown in the documentary-style visual for Lockdown (whichis in aid of the charity Refuge). Collaborators Richard Walters and Patrick J Pearson- collectively known as LYR- developed the track from a poem by Simon Armitage, with narration from actress Florence Pugh and Pete Wareham of Melt Yourself Down.The video features a cast of everyday characters, and celebrates our collective actions to help the country in its time of need. Families, couples and solo dwellers stand at their windows, holding sheets of paper with snippets of the poem. This mixed media aesthetic very much captures the zeitgeist of this period, which is already packed full of its own unique iconography and themes. A great, out-of-the-box concept for lockdown, this is a hugely successful video with an exciting mix of collaborators, which exists to help a very worthy cause.
