In Barbara Anastacio's powerful short film made in collaboration with artist and composer KINLAW, a lone worker is caught on the testing platform of an automotive wind tunnel, as the machine powers up, being subjected to it's escalating force.

The video for Ride To Ride picks up on a cinematic tradition that goes back to Eadweard Muybridge's work revealing the mechanics of motion in the 1870s. It follows that thread to the present, a time where we’re measured and optimized constantly. 

"I wanted to film the moment measurement becomes erasure, and sit inside it long enough that it stops feeling like a metaphor," says Anastacio. "Virilio said that to invent the ship is to invent the shipwreck. What, then, have we invented in building machines to measure and improve us?"
