Eaves Wilder 'The Great Plains' by Dora Paphides
Promonews - 30th Apr 2026
Dora Paphides channels heroines of classic literature and TV in her latest video for her sister Eaves Wilder.
For enjoyably Britpop-influenced The Great Plains, Dora and Eavie repair to open countryside, for some energetic cavorting and horseplay. In doing so, the film addresses aspects of the sisters' relationship - and we discover that Eavie is absolutely fine having a muddy face.
Dora says it was a special project for all sorts of reasons, including the fact that they are sisters. "This video looks back at us growing up," she confirms. "At Eaves feeling too tomboy for the games I wanted to play, and figuring out where she fit.
"It’s about that push and pull between the 'feminine' and 'masculine' parts of yourself, in quite a traditional way - whilst Eavie also being a rockstar.
"We spent a while looking at Pride and Prejudice, Little Women (all versions), Wuthering Heights (all versions), Little House On The Prairie, to create a new, hybrid world - a space where girlhood and sisterhood lives between what’s expected of girls and women."
