George Harrison 'Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)' by Finn Wolfhard

A year after the release of the 50th anniversary edition of George Harrison's album Living In The Material World, a lovely stop-motion animated video has been released for the album's standout track - directed by Stranger Things actor Finn Wolfhard.
The first ever video for Harrison's Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth) finds George tending his garden and enjoying a magical trip with a quartet of mischievous gnomes who magically come to life. It's based on George's time in the early post-Beatles period in the early 1970s when he was living at Friar Park and was enjoying gardening as well as pursuing a solo musical career.
In the just-released BTS film about the making of the video, Wolfhard explains that he storyboarded the video, "but I'm not the one moving everything." That would indeed be surprising, as he's presumably been very busy acting in the final season of Stranger Things - and he's also a musician. The labour intensive work of stop motion was actually done by the teams at Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth) and Ty Down Pictures, under animation director Akash Jones.
“Finn is one of the sweetest and most talented people I know of his generation, and he is the perfect person to direct a video for my dad,” says Dhani Harrison, who exec produced the video with David Zonshine, has said in a release. “My dad would have loved this, and I hope his wonderful, creative, heartfelt ideas help this song reach another generation.”
And although it's not a Christmas song or a Christmas-themed video - with it's heartfelt message, the release could hardly be more timely.
