Oscar Jerome 'The Fork' by Milo Blake
Promonews - 28th Jan 2025
Milo Blake tells a surrealist fable for Oscar Jerome’s The Fork.
The film explores rebirth, memory, and existentialism, inspired by the South London-based musician's own spiritual journey and for the title track from his forthcoming new album, his first new music in a couple of years.
Filmed in Latvia and set against vast landscapes, it begins with Jerome unearthing a metal object buried in a quarry: a bust of himself. Later, when he arrives at a huge deserted cinema, the bust offers up its own treasure.
Milo Blake uses the metaphor of cinema and introspection to reflect the emotions and influences we carry within us - fear, wonder, love and transformation.
"Each of us carry a bank of all the things that have influenced, created wonder, fear, love, sadness and anger which all play back in the cinema's of our minds," he says. "This is what the music video embodies and when we can see what’s truly important, it changes who we are and how we see the world.”
