Polo & Pan ft Channel Tres 'Tunnel' by Zite et Léo
Promonews - 12th Aug 2021
French directing duo Zite et Léo's video for Polo & Pan takes us on a fast and furious journey through time and space, via a bell hop and his enchanted lift.
The video for the French electo-pop duo's Tunnel - featuring LA-based rapper/singer Channel Tres - is a remarkable tour de force of retro-futuristic art direction and sci-fi comedy-fantasy from Zite et Léo, the directing duo that specialise in 'fantastic fables' and 'poetic comedies'.
In Tunnel, the bell hop's special elevator zooms across the universe, to different planets, picking up and dropping off alien passengers along the way, while Channel Tres appears in the lift in holographic form. That is, until the lift's interstellar travel capability starts to seriously malfunction.
Can the young man make it back home?
With Zite's background as a costume designer and Léo's as a director, the duo create fantastic worlds based on tangible and tactile art direction and set design, costumes, make-up, puppetry, in-camera effects and VFX - inspired by the likes of Terry Gilliam, Fellini, and Hayao Miyazaki. And the work they have created in the Tunnel video is wonderfully imaginative, and brilliantly executed.
After creating similarly engaging and loveable fantasies for Euphories and Petit Prince, Polo & Pan's Tunnel is arguably the finest example so far of Zite et Léo's uplifting creativity.
