Sunnbrella 'Lost & Found' by Arnaud Lin
Rob Ulitski - 11th Mar 2021
Arnaud Lin directs a gritty black and white promo for Sunnbrella's latest release.
Channelling inspiration from the works of Alex G, Eliott Smith and early 00’s hip-hop, Lost & Found is a mood-swung upbeat downer about searching for a meaningful connection in a world of temporary pleasures and instant gratification.
The accompanying music video by Arnaud Lin takes inspiration from Mumblecore cinema, Clerks and Lone Ranger – a 1960s art-house short featuring The Who's Pete Townshend.
The video pushes against the tone of the song by not taking itself too seriously, injecting some lightness and humour into the melancholy.
Taking on the role of DoP as well as directing, Lin leans in to the monochromatic aesthetic, celebrating the muddy textures and high contrast style, whilst experimenting with zooms and movement.
