Dear Criminals 'Lala' by Fred Gervais-Dupuis
In Fred Gervais-Dupuis's video for Montreal electro-duo Dear Criminals, a young country boy confronts relentless terrors in an ever-evolving nightmare.
This is breathtaking stuff. While the subject matter is tremendously bleak - this deathly pale child stumbles through his farmstead home from one horror involving a distorted version of a family member to the next - it is also delivered with an element of wonder, imagination and extraordinary beauty, delivered in stunning black and white cinematography by Kristof Brandl.
Previously known for his stylishly gothic photography, this is Fred Gervais-Dupuis's first music video. What a debut.
