Hope Notes 'A Letter To Hope' by Souvid Datta
Rob Ulitski - 23rd July 2020
Souvid Datta directs a short film on life and death during lockdown, with Hannah Parrott's The Fallout as a soundtrack.
Compiling filmmakers' work from across the world, A Letter To Hope is inspired by real-life correspondence sent by key-workers, parents, artists and everyday people during the 2020 Covid-19 lockdown. Interweaving poignant perspectives and fly-on-the-wall moments from behind closed doors, the film is an emotional trip through the pandemic with striking imagery and inspirational voiceovers.
The film was directed under quarantine, while isolating with vulnerable people. Government guidelines on social distancing were respected at all times.
