Jake Milliner ft. Bubblerap 'Jack Jones' by Christopher Rogers
Rob Ulitski - 22nd Oct 2019
Jake Milliner teams up with Bubblerap for the soulful Jack Jones, directed by Christopher Rogers.
The visual highlights the music making process, the craft of music production, and producers who are tirelessly hustling and putting out work. The 3:4 vertical video is overlayed with a Soundcloud waveform, another nod to the community, as we see singer Bubblerap's performances evolve from bedroom to studio.
The video is an unpretentious but stylish look at the process of making music – impressively shot by Kia Fern Little - and how the high times can be paired with extensive moments of loneliness and doubt. A careful use of effects in a couple of scenes creates a hallucinatory, ethereal vibe, perhaps representing the massive highs in a sleep-deprived state, where the magic literally feels as if it is happening right in front of you.
Bubblerap is a star in the making, and her effortless performance flows with the soulful vibe of Milliner's track, and the final outcome is a raw, honest portrayal of life as an artist.
