Jove Jupiter 'Materialistic' by Xavier Hamel
David Knight - 18th June 2019
Xavier Hamel's dark, nihilistic narrative for Jove Jupiter, features the LA-based artist as an amoral escort offering the "perfect boyfriend experience" to his wealthy male clients - all for the ultimate price.
This very adults-only tale, with explicit reference to kink, fetish and gender role-role-playing, and Jupiter as a monstrously manipulative central figure, feeds off the retro-Euro dance feel of his track Materialistic - and was apparently inspired by his own youthful experiences.
“The song was written about my time in Las Vegas as a 19 year old with a fake ID and getting into clubs and meeting older men," he has said. "I knew that I was very materialistic because I was searching for a sugar daddy to buy me designer - even though I had a well paying job and could afford it by myself."
Hopefully they just made up the other stuff...
