James Bay 'Bad' (Live) by Raja Virdi
Lassamie Prasimay - 20th May 2019
Raja Virdi directs and photographs another of his signature style one-shot live performances for James Bay's newest single Bad - filmed at the Hackney Round Chapel in East London.
RAJA VIRDI:
"I really enjoyed making this video. I wanted this piece to feel intimate and raw with it just being James performing solo and this was achieved by creating a spotlit setup and mostly keeping camera in the close-up world. I wanted to keep the piece cinematic and to show off the introduction wide, therefore I decided to go with a 40mm Cooke Anamorphic.
"We had a fantastic team, an incredible location in Hackney Round Chapel and most importantly a fantastic artist and song. Working with James was a dream and super easygoing. Massive props to my Steadi-op Jake Whitehouse for smashing the camera work. My frequent gaffer Amir for helping advise on lighting this so beautifully and having to black out over 20 large windows in one day... and to my regular Colourist Connor at ETC for always adding the incredible finishing touches."
