Everything Is Recorded 'Everything Is Recorded' by CHILD + Mahaneela
Now airing exclusively on the Boiler Room TV channel 4:3*, this 30 minute film by CHILD + Mahaneela documents the making of the Everything Is Recorded album, the latest music project by Richard Russell, and featuring a range of music talent across the generations.
The film features exclusive interviews with Russell and his collaborators, unseen behind-the-scenes footage of the recording sessions (featuring Baluji Shrivastav, Ben Reed, Giggs, Green Gartside, Ibeyi, Infinite Coles, Joe Brown, Lil C, Mela Murder, Nubya Garcia, Obongjayar, Peter Gabriel, Sampha, Tic, Wiki, Yazz Ahmed and Richard Russell) and a cinematic documentation of their debut live shows.
"The whole idea of collaboration is not really widely understood, people don't really get it," Russell has told 4:3. "Because people ask you these questions like: 'but how does it get to be like this? Who did what?' I mean you can try and break that down but that's like the opposite of what you're doing. When you're making these things the last thing you're thinking about is 'who?' It's just 'what?'"
