Orelsan ft Stromae 'La Pluie' by Paul, Luc & Martin
David Knight - 16th Apr 2018
Since the delightful video for Yael Naim, Paul Van Haver has confidently progressed as a director with partners Luc Junior Tam and Martin Scali - a concurrent career for Van Haver to his hugely successful one in music as Stromae. And now he's on both sides of the camera for the first time, for Stromae's team-up with French rapper Orelsan.
The result is a very cool, entertaining VFX-enhanced performance video for La Pluie, that sees the partners in a number of eyecatching scenarios from a flooded supermarket aisle to a bus stop packed with people like a can of sardines, the back of a drifting boy racer to walking on the tops of umbrellas.
It's a video that channels an old school hop hop video style and gives it a distinctly European feel. And it's very good to see the super-talented Stromae on camera again.
