Manic Street Preachers 'Distant Colours' by Kieran Evans
Lassamie Prasimay - 12th Mar 2018
From an abandoned slate mine in North Wales to a theatre in Blackwood, Kieran Evans's latest video for the Manic Street Preachers features a powerful performance from the band alongside the alienated protagonist that featured in the previous film for International Blue.
And now our intrepid traveller (Sarah Sayuri Hare) finds herself a long way from Nice. She finds herself among the industrial landscapes and forgotten landmarks of Welsh history and politics.
The video was shot anamorphic 2:39:1 to continue the widescreen concept established with International Blue, the final grading slightly exaggerating the saturation and hues of the landscapes and contrasts against the stark, de-saturated look for the interiors of the theatre and the band performance.
