Calvin Harris 'My Way' by Emil Nava
Luke Bather - 2nd Nov 2016
With VR not loosening its grip any time soon, Emil Nava goes all Black Mirror with Calvin Harris.
Set in a dystopia where Calvin wants to imagine life as a modern American frontiersman, he dons a VR headset and attempts to live out the quiet life in a remote cabin somewhere. However it seems that technology isn't quite up to speed with Harris' dreams as the glitches in the system only get worse and worse.
It doesn't help matters that his relationship with his co-star seems a little frosty, both in and out of this virtual reality. But as the world around him crumbles into a mess of pixelated rubble it all seems to turn out for the best as his barn has become something of a dance party hotspot.
Of course, when you spell it all out like that on paper it seems ridiculous, but this video has it's aesthetic locked down, with some impressive VFX.
