Tom Walker 'Fly Away With Me' by Danny Chan
Luke Bather - 22nd July 2016
In this sweet and uplifting look at escapism, Danny Chan tells the story of a homeless man trying to find direction, purpose and self confidence.
After happening upon a discarded super hero costume, he opts to escape into that character for a few hours. Not only does this change how he sees the world, but it changes how the world sees him. The homeless, sadly, in our society can all too easily become invisible, but there's little more visible than a super hero, is there? A universal tale about yearning to escape and gain some perspective, even if only for a short while.
DANNY CHAN
"I wanted to make a video that was positive and uplifting. Whilst we might not all relate to being homeless I think we all have at one time or another felt like we lacked purpose or confidence and let the responsibilities of adult life get us down. I think we often forget to enjoy life or look for positives in our situations. We can find escapism in anything and sometimes we just need to reconnect with the way we viewed the world as a child."
