After his marvellous cut-and-paste postcard collage for The Magician, Winston Hacking's second video for Canadian singer-songwriter Andy Shauf follows a similar stylistic trend. This time, with the help of Andrew Zuckerman, the Montreal-based animator has mined the impressive Prelinger Archive of free stock film for footage to create some cool, lo-fi, living collages to accompany Shauf's Worst In You.
The blend of images creates some truly surreal scenes – reminiscent of the work of artist Kalen Hollomon – executed here with a rhythmic panache.
