Declan McKenna 'Paracetamol' by Matt Lambert
Cat Velez - 25th Mar 2016
Matt Lambert's lovely docu-video piece for Declan McKenna's Paracetamol offers up an intimate glimpse into the lives and emotional struggles for acceptance of two best friends on the LGBT spectrum, one trans boy, the other a gay young man.
It's a simple and emotional work which feels profoundly modern, with handheld vlog-style footage from the cast as natural chemistry plays out between them. It's a perfect visual addition to the song, which the teenage singer-songwriter Declan McKenna wrote as a reaction to the tragic suicide of American transgender teen Leelah Alcorn.
