The new video for Desire, directed by Years & Years' regular collaborator Fred Rowson, taps into the preoccupations of lead singer Olly Alexander and has caused a mini-furore for its depiction of all variations of consensual sexuality. And the fact they have staged a mini-orgy, of course...

Quite apart from the media attention it's generating, the video confirms Alexander's pop nous - and with Fred Rowson as his foil, shows he's increasingly comfortable expressing himself in the medium. And that pink overcoat looks like a very smart styling choice.
