Boston Bun 'Paris Groove' by Ollie Wolf
Cat Velez - 26th Jan 2016
Ollie Wolf’s follow-up to his tongue-in-cheek deconstruction of music video in Josef Salvat's Open Season, with this humorous and somewhat unsettling video for Boston Bun's Paris Groove.
Taking place in Pigalle, Paris, the video follows French actor Olivier Barthélémy and his dream girl on a night out in the city of love. But the problem is, his rollerskating date is not made of flesh and bone like other women. And while the man is clearly charmed by his partner, we are left to wonder - just like the strangers the couple run into - if the man has completely lost it.
In regards to shooting the video with Barthélémy as his lead actor, Wolf says: "The chance to work with Olivier was fantastic. It’s ten years since Olivier first starred in DJ Mehdi’s Signatune video [directed by Romain Gavras] for Ed Banger. So, I couldn’t help but feel the pressure to make something that would sit along side the great cannon of work Pedro and the gang have made. I’m too close to know if we did - I hope so."
