Rone ft François Marry 'Quitter La Ville' by Julien+Adrien
French electronic music producer Rone (aka Erwan Castex) gave photography and directing duo Julien + Adrien complete creative freedom to direct this video for his track Quitter La Ville – French for "leaving town".
And art imitates life in the resulting equestrian coming-of-age tale, shot between Dublin’s dilapidated O’Devaney Gardens, a mostly abandoned estate in the Irish capital, and the surrounding rural Wicklow landscape. It features three local kids who (apparently) had never been off the estate before the film shoot, and the theme and emotional impact of Quitter La Ville was reflected the situation of the video’s young stars.
“That’s why I found the final scene touching," says Rone. "The smiles are real and so is the sense of freedom.”
