Glass Animals 'Black Mambo' by David M. Helman
David Knight - 19th Feb 2015
Dark rituals, strange hallucinations and… skin shedding. They're all there in David M. Helman's new video for Glass Animals' Black Mambo.
It's an atmospheric, alluring and beautifully photographed piece of work, filmed mostly in Mexico, and in London.
DAVID M HELMAN:
"The concept for Black Mambo started with this theme of deception. As I was working out ideas and listening to the track, it always felt like the lightness of the melody was a mask for a darker narrative.
"The rest of the concept slowly grew from there where I began to develop this rabbit hole storyline and started blending that with the imagery from the album.Â
"We primarily shot in Morelos, Mexico which is a few hours south of Mexico City."
