Denai Moore 'Blame' by Simon Cahn
David Knight - 18th Feb 2015
A beautiful, barren, and very wintry Iceland provides the spectacular setting for Simon Cahn's gripping and very enigmatic video for Denai Moore's Blame, in which the singer, who recently featured on SBTRKT’s Wonder Where We Land album, sits in the back of a car, which starts moving.
When a man gives chase on foot, we don't know whether he's trying to get in the car, or get Denai out. Either way, the tension builds - until what we appear to be watching events repeating themselves. Or is it?
Not surprisingly the video was made in extremely testing conditions: temperatures down to minus 20 C, with high winds to boot. But it's beautifully photographed by Pat Scola, and expertly orchestrated by Simon Cahn - even if everything we see is open to interpretation...
