Slaves put in an animated performance as they mess around with liquid concoctions in this vivid, multicoloured promo for new single The Hunter as directors Youth Hymns make no secret of their love for VHS...
YOUTH HYMNS
"We really wanted to make something vibrant and full of character to match the band members' personalities. As the song is quite intense, we also wanted to create a slight ominous and sinister feeling.
"Set inside a virtual reality pop art gallery, we got the band to fill various glass ornaments with a special liquid concoction. Isaac and Laurie donned some specs and picked up their weapons of choice - a crowbar and baseball bat. They then unleashed their moves on these liquid filled objects creating some fanatically colourful explosions.
"We shot using old Panasonic VHS cameras, also going back and forth between VHS decks when editing to keep the look. We love VHS and own 150 VHS cameras. No joke".
