The latest video by Lisa Gunning for Goldfrapp's Tales Of Us album is for a ballad told from a murderer’s point of view as they stalk and kill a woman named Jo.
Goldfrapp 'Laurel' by Lisa Gunning
Lisa Gunning delivers another impressionistic, cinematic beauty for Goldfrapp - her sixth film to accompany the band's album Tales Of Us. Only this time, the video for Laurel is slightly different from its predecessors - including Annabel, Stranger and Jo – in transporting the viewer away from idyllic rural England to the motel-milieu of LA.
The subject is a pole dancer with an independent and solitary spirit - inspired by Lisa's encounter with a real nightclub dancer, while she was editing a movie in LA a couple of years ago. And like the other films in the Tales Of Us series, she creates this portrait by employing some beautiful, dreamlike imagery.
