Bakermat ‘Vandaag’ by De La Muerte
Jimmy Brown - 21st May 2014
Powered by some lovely image superimposition and a fantastic, very creative use of archive footage, De La Muerte deliver this hugely watchable promo for Bakermat's Vandaag.
Shot in LA with a cast of over 30 talented individuals – from a New Orleans jazz band, a Purple Heart-owning war veteran, a wolf trainer to a 12 year old boxer – the soundtrack boasts the first legitimate licensing of Martin Luther King's speech to a piece of music.
And the video is all about "carrying on Martin Luther King's message to the modern day," says Debbie of De La Muerte, "All the people featured are real people with real talents and amazing real stories.
"We filmed on a rooftop in LA. The whole cast and crew had to stop and howl at the wolf to get it to howl, whilst the LAPD flew overhead."
