The first music video produced out of Colonel Blimp's new LA office could hardly be more high-profile. It's for Pharrell, and what's more, it's follow-up to the phenomenally successful Happy...
But the same spirit that led to the groundbreaking 24 Hour video for Happy by We Are From LA, has led to this massively entertaining, consistently creative and witty video for Marilyn Monroe, directed by Luis Cerveró.
The former CANADA co-director has already made a big statement with his astonishing video for Liars' Mess On A Mission. Now he's brings all his experience making amazing work with the Barcelona collective into play with a new additional American sheen - brilliant set-pieces, big routines, tumblr-like vignettes - and Pharrell himself charmingly gliding through proceedings, wearing a very big hat.
And lots and lots of girls. Dancers, ordinary girls, a special girl...and Kelly Osbourne, doing a little rap. This really is a superior kind of entertainment - and there's even room for a cameo by LA-based British director David Wilson...
