Zak Pinchin follows up the promo for Rage with another rousing visual for the anonymous rock outfit PRESIDENT. The video for Destroy Me finds the band in a vast industrial space, performing as the song's lyrics glitch on and off of screen. The band's masked singer - the President character - is at first silhouetted, but then takes centre stage, and in an evident state of anger and agitation. Experimenting with subtle effects, shifting colour palettes and frantic camerawork, it's a stirring visual with the energy amped all the way up."Going into this video we wanted to explore a downward trajectory of our character the President, based around the band performance," Pinchin explains. "We arrive in a red void at the end of the video to correspond the song's descent with warped practical lens effects to further the metaphor of PRESIDENT's psyche."[imgtoken data:1][imgtoken data:2]

PRESIDENT 'Destroy Me' by Zak Pinchin

President-'Destroy-Me'-by-Zak-Pinchin

Zak Pinchin directs a rousing promo for anonymous music project PRESIDENT. The video for Rage focuses on two dancers in a breathtaking church location, performing as the artist looms over them, watching from a balcony. As the camera twists, zooms and follows the dancers' performance, matching the fierce intensity of the track, it builds to a choreographed 'fight to the death' leaving one woman as the victor - and the artist's chosen one. This is excellent work which adds to the mystery surrounding the PRESIDENT project, whilst keeping things tight in concept and cinematic in execution.[imgtoken data:1]ZAK PINCHIN:"As the concept bases itself around the fight of human morality, we came at this video wanting to cross the beauty with the haunted - a ying-yang of aura. A dance seemed fitting in a location of grandeur, only to feel an ominous presence of our President enter the room to ‘choose’."I love the concept of morality in a physical expression, being gazed upon by our President, a ‘close to’ human being, onlooking a display of real human nature. We leave the ending open to wonder where the President sees himself fitting in this world."

Zak Pinchin directs a darkly atmospheric promo for British metalcore outfit Bury Tomorrow. The video for Let Go intercuts a powerful performance by frontman Daniel Winter-Bates and a haunting narrative, which unfolds within an ominous domestic setting. It's a house populated by enigmatic characters, but centres around the young woman that Winter-Bates carries into the house and lays down on the ground. She's the focus upon which everything else revolves.[imgtoken data:1]"Upon reading the album title Will You Haunt Me, With That Same Patience, I envisioned a character laying a lost loved one down in a house they once shared," explains Pinchin. "A place where they can haunt or exist to help him cope with his grief; a place he can keep them and return to." The director says he was drawn to the combination of connection and disconnection."The conflicting ideas of internal pain and the stillness of patience resonated with me, as did the way this album’s aesthetic could contrast with its sonic world. I built the video from this world. I wanted to figuratively capture that idea as a moment in time, frozen in numb stillness, revisiting memories once laid to rest."

Zak Pinchin directs and self-shoots an abstract performance promo for Jovian Moons - the project of Paris-based producer Lucas D'Angelo. Exploring the idea of bending reality and time, the atmospheric video for X Amount Of Time features a high-contrast, monochromatic aesthetic and dazzling textures.Imbued with slow shutter effects and a hypnotic perspective, it's a dazzling visual which ponders the dichotomies of life - hard vs soft, light vs dark, broken vs whole - whilst capturing the performance of D'Angelo and his band.[imgtoken data:1]

Rock outfit Modern Error's frontman Zak Pinchin has directed an avant garde fantasy for the band's return to action with The Truest Blue.Backdropped by chromatic, patterned structures and shapes, the video is infused with a sense of abstract style, from the fetish-inspired styling to perpetually lilting vignetting on the image. DoP Matt Gentleman balances gritty textures with the gloss of mainstream promos, creating a visual that falls somewhere between a daydream and a nightmare - and with the concise art direction by Richard Stimpson it successfully pays homage to some classic rock videos.[imgtoken data:1]"The Truest Blue is the first look in to the new world of Modern Error," says Pinchin. "I see this as a kind of editorial dystopia, pushing elements of obscurity, avant garde fashion and dark beauty, but still bright and clean."The intention of this video is to simply showcase and set up that band's new world and see a character birth into this world of the band's new concept album."
