Gore blimey! Deadhorses direct an intense, visceral experience for Crewe-based four-piece UNIVERSITY.&nbsp;The blood-soaked spectacle for&nbsp;Massive Twenty One Pilots Tattoo opens in a spotlit studio, where the band are performing. After a minute or so, the camera begins to knock into them, seemingly by&nbsp;accident but becoming increasingly aggressive towards them. All this whilst one band member sits playing video games, blissfully unaware of the carnage.&nbsp;In a storm of glitchy textures, abstract close-ups and an overarching sense of mayhem, the director duo's trademark style shines through. Fast cuts, inverted colours and a sense of anachronistic nostalgia. Great work.[imgtoken data:1]

Leo Villares and Victor Nauwynck venture into Rocky Horror territory with their visually inventive romp into the world of mad scientists and their botched creations for English multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Ed Tullett - aka&nbsp;Lowswimmer.In the video for IRL we enter the depths of a factory-turned-laboratory, to discover the twin creations of the latest cloning experiment by a trio of suspiciously excitable white-coated scientists. And then the girls are&nbsp;introduced to their 'siblings' - the results of the scientists' previous experiments.[imgtoken data:1]With events escalating from the girls' initial wonder at their setting, to cartoonish body horror and beyond, Villares and Nauwynck establish a wild comic tone and sense of the unpredictable in this low budget gem, summed up in a remarkable&nbsp;sequence involving both a regurgitation and a tug of war. It's impossible to tear your eyes away from.&nbsp;This is an impressively well-crafted production, with excellent practical effects, SFX make-up and cinematography, helmed by a UK-based Brazilian/Belgian directing partnership with a strong vision drawn from a wealth of cinematic influences. And it was&nbsp;shot in Pope's Yard Brewery in Watford. Excellent work.

Joel Barney directs a kaleidoscopic, 90's-inspired skate film for&nbsp;Sigala Feat. 24kgoldn &amp; Trevor Daniel.The video for It's A Feeling is set against the bustling streets of London, and captures a group of friends as they navigate the city, surrounded by infrared trees and greenery in a surreal visual twist.&nbsp;Inspired by the vibrant artwork of Billy Babehkul and Richard Mosse, it's a love letter to the&nbsp;rebellious spirit of 90s skate culture with a visual style that transports viewers into an otherworldly realm.&nbsp;Aesthetically switching between elevated, glossy camerawork and lo-fi Mini DV, the video is imbued with the DIY spirit of the skate scene.[imgtoken data:1]"The brief called for the video to incorporate the albums infrared/psychadelic visual identity in some way, taking reference from the single artwork, we decided to invert the green elements of the frame to a Richard Mosse-like vibrant pinkish red," says Sonder."While aiming for a cinematic feel, it was crucial to maintain authenticity in representing skate culture, which is often portrayed superficially in popular media. To achieve this, we collaborated with a crew of real skaters, allowing them to operate much of the Mini DV footage themselves."This approach ensures that the film captures the genuine spirit and energy of skateboarding, resulting in a dynamic and “alive” video that resonates with authenticity."

Geerten Harmens directs a trippy fever dream of a promo for pop-dance duo Sad Night Dynamite, presented through a frantic montage of mobile phone footage, intercut with social media iconography, garish textures and dynamic animation.&nbsp;The video for Sugabby narratively explores the idea of dating an older woman, with the tale unfolding through a&nbsp;menagerie of media and different screen devices. Slipping from reality into an uncanny valley of fantasy, achieved at&nbsp;a breathless speed Harmens and his team provide a srong addition to&nbsp;the off-kilter and blackly comic aesthetic of previous SND videos.&nbsp;&nbsp;"This video has been extremely interesting to figure out," the director&nbsp;explains. "Together with the crew we had to think about a simultaneous social media storyline that all came together in it's own little hyperactive viral cultured way in the edit."We had to work with about eight hours of iPhone footage to compile it in under three minutes.
