Max McLachlan helps introduce the world to the new Birdy, in this captivating&nbsp;promo for Raincatchers.&nbsp;The video depicts Birdy as a giant, helping her younger self (played by Eleanor Hockley) navigate a world of corporate monotony and oppressive rules, blending&nbsp;semi-autobiographic lyrics with dark fantasy aesthetics.&nbsp;"Birdy is not a kid anymore," says McLachlan. "The world has known her since she was barely a teenager. TAWBOX, creative directors behind Stormzy’s 2019 Glastonbury headline set and Dave’s 2020 BRITs performance, directed Pa Salieu's first US TV appearance on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon - a one-shot performance that recreates the rapper's Send Them To Coventry&nbsp;album cover.It's a fusion of The Gambia meets Coventry, as Pa Salieu travels through a Gambian shop and is then joined by his Coventry friends. Inspired by Gambian culture, TAWBOX included a Kankurang dancer within the performance. A large-scale lighting set up and a live band was used during the performance to showcase Pa Salieu as one of music’s leading artists."Production wise it was all about getting a dream team together to pull it off and with Alex Jamin behind the lens we went for it," explain TAWBOX. "With numerous lighting states and sets (designed by Sarah Asmail) we needed a monumental lighting plan and roped in Elliot Beach to pull it off in one long day."Funnily enough Sarah Asmail had worked on Pa Salieu's album cover and it was just by sheer coincidence that producer Ghandi El-Chamaa got in touch with her for the performance, having seen her other sets and been keen to get a working relationship going."Seb Joly on the Trinity is also worthy of a mention having had to enter through a car window with his rig and under 1cm clearance 24 times - he didn't bump it on any recorded takes!"

Dumas Haddad celebrates Priya Ragu's vibrant take on her Sri Lankan heritage in this blazingly colourful&nbsp;video for Chicken Lemon Rice.Having worked with the singer on two other songs in a live session for the Live At The Archives series, Haddad - recently signed to FAMILIA for music videos - shot the official video for&nbsp;Chicken Lemon Rice in a beautifully dramatic and damaged house over in West London, close to where Priya was isolating during her stay in the UK before Christmas.&nbsp;With an emphasis on Priya's charismatic performance, supported by a glamourous cast of extras&nbsp;and a stunning take on South Asian fashion, Haddad delivers an exciting visual flavour to the singer's&nbsp;blend of East and West musical styles.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;FAMILIA head of music Ryan Morgan says the inspiration behind the aesthetic of the video came out of conversations between the Priya, Haddad, management, label commissioners Dom McKiernon and Lottie Llewellyn, and himself. "It was clear from the very beginning that Priya wanted to showcase her Sri Lankan heritage in the most organic way by introducing certain colour palettes, dance movements and art elements to accent the details of the vibrancy of Sri Lankan culture," he explains.[imgtoken data:1]"Dumas and Priya collaborated on boards with art director Jade Adeyemi and stylist Neesha Tulsi Champaneria to make sure we included authentic textures, fabrics and patterns throughout the set design and outfits for each character within the video."Dumas Haddad adds:&nbsp;“Collaborating with Priya and her team was beyond enriching, as we were able to shape our vision together to create a collective consciousness around the video."The song has a beautiful blend of styles and Priya’s heritage, so we were certainly keen to touch on these flavours on screen, in a unique and exciting blend. Our aim was to create a visual that was true to Priya whilst pushing our boundaries."

Joe Wheatley follows up his fine series of&nbsp;videos for Willie J Healey with an enigmatic and brooding&nbsp;visual for The Magic Gang's (The World) Outside My Door.&nbsp;Taking place within the confines of a bedroom, the video is a slow-burning exploration of vocalist Jack's psyche, as he unravels distant memories and attempts to separate the past and present.DoP&nbsp;Rik Burnell experiments with increasingly surreal lighting and angles to capture the feeling of confusion and muddled emotions, and a climactic ending reframes the former clips into something more existential and intriguing.&nbsp;"Jack from The Magic Gang approached me after watching my films for Willie," says Wheatley. "He had the bones of an idea from an old episode of&nbsp;The Twilight Zone. I worked it up and we went in a slightly different direction to get here."It's a challenge to keep one location interesting, but I've been&nbsp;told we achieved that."

HYYTS have unusual emotional reactions in Ainsley Bowman's video for The Low Sound.&nbsp;Most of us wouldn't take pleasure in being drowned, kicked in the face or set on fire. This&nbsp;isn't the case on this occasion, where the Glaswegian duo totally subvert expectations, enjoying the painful side of life, whilst finding happiness a total drag.&nbsp;Bowman and DoP&nbsp;Steve Cardno creates an authentic world through docu-style cinematography, anchoring the concept in reality so as to not make it seem farfetched in any way. The pair's performance is also top-notch, and you have to applaud them for getting through it with a smile on their faces... or perhaps they are just too used to smiling in painful situations.&nbsp;

This was something that Cable-Alexander wanted to preserve.&ldquo;I was blown away by the emotion Billy was able to convey,&quot; he says. &quot;I immediately wanted to use 16mm to offer something raw as well as infrablue lighting for a cinematic edge. The visuals had to conjure up the same depth and integrity that Billy&rsquo;s sound evoked in me.&rdquo;

Luis Hindman directs a dazzling performance promo for Ten Tonnes.&nbsp;Stylistically riffing off the artwork for the track with in-camera&nbsp;effects, the video for Cracks Between tells the story of a breakup, through the use of minimalist sets and understated art direction.&nbsp;The artist - real name&nbsp;Ethan Barnett - takes centre-stage&nbsp;with a&nbsp;love interest who often replaces&nbsp;the performance and mirrors&nbsp;Barnett's movements, but never turns up on-screen at the same time as him.This cat-and-mouse style chase makes for a dynamic visual, and the inspired use of cut-out shapes in front of the lens&nbsp;frames the video in an interesting and fresh way.&nbsp;&nbsp;

A schoolgirl&#39;s disappointment and yearning for exciting company, leads to a distinctly English trip into the imagination in the video for Scouting For Girls&#39; Home, directed by Liam Hooper (who directed SFG&#39;s <a href="http://promonews.tv/videos/2015/02/11/scouting-girls-rains-la-liam-hooper" target="_blank">Rains In LA</a> video last year)&nbsp;at 2050 Films.Loosely inspired by movies such as Drop Dead Fred and Little Miss Sunshine, this demonstrates that the idea of the imaginary friend to blot out the harshness of the real world continues to be an intriguing and relatable&nbsp;proposition. In this case the video&#39;s posting led to&nbsp;300k views and 3k reactions on its initial Facebook release.

Robert Hales has delivered this stirring promo for Muse&#39;s new single Dead Inside, which centres on&nbsp;a mesmerising interaction in dance&nbsp;from Kathryn McCormick and&nbsp;William Wingfield.The&nbsp;choreography&nbsp;by Tessandra Chavez is brilliant, and the photography (by&nbsp;Todd Banhazl)&nbsp;and editing (by Bill Yukich)&nbsp;of the performance is exceptional. Meanwhile, Muse also perform, becoming an increasingly significant on-screen presence as the song develops. Excellent stuff.&nbsp;
