Foals frontman&nbsp;Yannis Philippakis is trapped in a choreographed cycle of hedonism, in Tanu Muino's brilliant promo for 2am.&nbsp;In the video,&nbsp;Philippakis is locked in a game of cat and mouse with a mysterious woman, who he follows through a maze of whimsical studio environments, intermittently finding himself in the middle of eccentric, Gondry-esque set pieces.&nbsp;Exploding with vibrant set design, avant-garde styling and wonderfully bizarre choreography, the video is a rollercoaster of emotions played out on a massive scale.It's another triumph for Muino, showing that the director who provided exploded onto the scene&nbsp;last year with videos&nbsp;for <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2021/04/01/lil-nas-x-montero-call-me-your-name-tanu-muino/70170">Lil Nas X,</a> <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2021/02/09/cardi-b-tanu-muino/69383">Cardi B </a>and <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2021/11/19/post-malone-weeknd-one-right-now-tanu-muino/73902">Post Malone</a>&nbsp;- leading to her winning&nbsp;Best Director at the UKMVAs last year, is alo tremendously versatile.&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2021/11/19/post-malone-weeknd-one-right-now-tanu-muino/73902">&nbsp;</a>&nbsp;

FOALS - 2am [Official Music Video]

Muse are back with their first release in four years - and immediately at full throttle -&nbsp;with Jared Hogan's sci-fi epic for Won't Stand Down.&nbsp;The video sees an ancient woman masked with vocalist Matt Bellamy's face, drawing power from a faceless army and transcending into an augmented being.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;From the futuristic art direction through to the&nbsp;seamless VFX and dynamic cinematography, the video is a tour de force&nbsp;of creativity which builds to a rip-roaring, intense climax. And the&nbsp;haunting silicone mask the lead character wears jumps right into the uncanny valley, and makes for an uncomfortable viewing experience in the best way.&nbsp;Like every Muse video, there is an important message bubbling under the surface, this time focused on standing up against bullies and oppressors. Filmed in Ukraine - producers MrMr teamed up with Shelter in Kiev for the production of the video - the concept perfectly encapsulates these themes.

Sasha Barbin and Ryan Doubiago's new video for M83 is a spectacular sequel to the acclaimed videos that the French producer released a decade ago.&nbsp;In 2011, M83 released a trilogy of videos for the album Hurry Up, We're Dreaming&nbsp;- directed by Fleur&amp;Manu. These films, produced by Division, told the story of a community of children gifted with supernatural powers who escaped from a school where a covert government force kept them locked up."To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the album, M83 wanted to illustrate a fourth piece, a fourth chapter that would take place in the same universe. But rather than setting it ten&nbsp;years later, we wanted to go back to the origins," explain the directors, Barbin and Doubiago.&nbsp;"That's why this story acts as a prequel to the trilogy - taking place ten years earlier in order to highlight the first moment one of these children uses their supernatural gifts."On the way to the hospital and moments before his birth, the child’s parents are victims of a horrible car accident. The unborn child is forced to use his powers to save them from within the womb. The idea was to show the literal birth of a superhero."The cinematic, stylised aesthetic encapsulates an emotional narrative and high-stakes drama scenes, whilst the use of slow-motion&nbsp;helps elevate the emotional pull of the concept. The visual effects also play a key role in both the narrative and the overall concept, and&nbsp;Mathieu Jussreandot does a brilliant job in this role.&nbsp;

Tom Misch and Yussef Dayes return with Lift Off,&nbsp;a song that infuses jazz and funk through modern sensibilities, complete with a lovely video from&nbsp;Douglas Bernardt documenting their live performance of the track&nbsp;with Rocco Palladino, shot on 16mm film in Kiev.&nbsp;DoP&nbsp;Adolpho Veloso utilises drawn-out Steadicam&nbsp;shots, which float through the warmly-lit studio as an&nbsp;orange&nbsp;sun orbits the artists&nbsp;on a track. In the background, a couple are performing choreography as the guitar and bass lines crescendo to an addicting groove.It's a simple and clear concept, and Bernardt finds the magic within the hypnotic performances.&nbsp;

A mysterious masked figure makes his way through a stark Soviet landscape in Frank Borin and&nbsp;Ivanna Borin's video for Zayn, R3hab and&nbsp;Jungleboi.Produced from a concept written by Zayn himself, we see the mysterious figure lead a revolution, before sacrificing himself and destroying everyone. In parallel with the current zeitgeist, the themes of uprising and taking back control are imprinted upon every scene, as well as the exploration of dictatorships and oppression.&nbsp;Shot in Kiev, the breathtaking urban scenery is a perfect backdrop to the concept - gritty and almost post-apocalyptic.&nbsp;Nikita Kuzmenko's sweeping camera movements and drone shots add a cinematic flair to the project, and a cast of dozens of young rebels adds a huge amount of production value.

Tove Lo gets a bit carried away with her breakup advice, travelling all over the world&nbsp;in this “I can’t believe they did that!” video by Vania Heymann and Gal Muggia.When best her pal calls, dumped and heartbroken, Tove Lo excuses herself from a lunch date to give her the talk. We’ve all had to give our friend a variation of this pep&nbsp;talk: he’s the worst, you’re great, you’re better off without him, etc… If you want the message to stick, you have to accept you’re going to be on the phone a long time.And in a phone conversation that seems to last forever, Tove Lo absentmindedly walks into a desert, then to the arctic, then through a hurricane. She rides a freight train, commits a murder, goes to prison, and escapes with the help of her prison-wife. Then she returns with a new passport and identity, in time to pay the bill for her lunch date.The video is spectacular and sweeping, and another tour de force&nbsp;of concept and VFX by the Israeli directors that brought us the joys of <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2016/05/17/coldplay-upup-vania-heymann-and-gal-muggia/41368">Coldplay's Up &amp; Up</a>, and <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2018/04/13/dj-snake-magenta-riddim-vania-heymann-and-gal-muggia/52668" target="_blank">DJ Snake's Magenta Riddim</a>.&nbsp;But it's&nbsp;also a great showcase for Tove Lo's dry, high-concept humour. The Swedish singer&nbsp;plays these increasingly ridiculous scenarios completely straight. And her grounding influence makes this video a warm tribute to friendship, the sentiment being, “I’ll climb a mountain for you, you lovesick idiot.”

Matilda Finn&#39;s video for Sophie Hunger begins with a silent prelude, in a house shrouded in grief, where a young woman surveys the body of an aged relative, laid out before her burial. But then the body changes.Suddenly, its all action: a car rally in the forest, a car careering through the woods in a race against time, surrounded by cheering crowds. The driver strives to cut seconds with an ever faster and dangerous drive, to the alarm of the co-driver.It&#39;s the stuff of testosterone-heavy films down the ages, but the difference here is that everyone, from driver to crowd to mourners are female. And as she has done so successfully in the past Finn charts a path in her images - beautfully shot by Ben Fordesman in sun-kissed Ukraine - between urgent reality and a surreal dreamscape. The characters, storyline only make total sense in relation to the track. As it should be.&nbsp;
