"Every time I discovered something new about myself, I’d feel the compulsion to repress it slightly and minimize my true self to avoid being judged or losing people. London-based production company Hello Love has announced the&nbsp;signing of Stella Belle Hex to the directors'&nbsp;roster, coinciding with the release of Belle Hex's new video for The Vaccines.Stella Belle Hex is an award-winning visual artist and animator whose work spans across live installations, music promos and commercials. Her distinctive&nbsp;visual style has allowed her work for many different mediums, which includes numerous festivals, live events, music artists and installations. She's made work for the likes of Idles, Take That and Glastonbury, and her music video directing debut for <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2021/05/18/vaccines-headphones-baby-stella-belle-hex/70934" target="_blank">The Vaccines' Headphones Baby</a> (above), recently featured on Promonews, encapsulates her bold signature animation style."My interests lie curiously in animation and manipulating found materials to conjure surreal collages and social sculptures," explains Stella Belle Hex.&nbsp;"I like to cast shadows with light and play in immersive spaces. The Vaccines lead singer Justin Young goes on a hallucinatory trip, in&nbsp;Stella Belle Hex's extravaganza for Headphones Baby.&nbsp;Opening with an abstract live action scene - where young consumes the edge of a postcard stamp, LSD style - the video soon transforms into a neon euphoria, full of trippy&nbsp;visual candy.&nbsp;Hex's playfully surreal style bleeds into every pixel of the video, culminating in a wild, immersive experience for the viewer.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;

Warning: extreme and extraordinary&nbsp;cartoon violence lies ahead in Al Brown's video for Idles - his latest collaboration&nbsp;with illustrator Russell Taysom and animator Stella Belle Hex.&nbsp;Brown and his colleagues have created&nbsp;a surreal, and very brutal&nbsp;throwback to '90s arcade games, as the video for Never Fight A Man With A Perm&nbsp;portrays lead vocalist Joe Talbot battling against a series of mutated characters, whilst exploring themes of (quite literal) toxic masculinity.The acid-trip visuals slowly decay as the video progresses, creating a kaleidoscope of loud colours and glitchy overlays. Those&nbsp;familiar with Brown’s previous work with Taysom and Hex, on projects such as <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?list=RDRhnqSfM87DQ&amp;v=RhnqSfM87DQ">Deap Vally’s 'Bring it On'</a>, will find a lot of parallels in this project. But there’s more than enough originality to elevate this to a higher level.One thing’s for sure, this video grabs your attention with both hands and doesn't&nbsp;loosen its grip until the very end.
