Floria Sigismondi returns to music videos with a theatrical blockbuster for Sam Smith's chart-topping Unholy,&nbsp;featuring Kim Petras.Shot in London, this eye-popping extravaganza&nbsp;is a musical set-piece packed with flair, pizzazz and sexual energy - with Sam as the charismatic MC of a small army of show-people at&nbsp;The Body Shop, the LGBTQ+ cabaret where lustful dreams come true.&nbsp;With cameos by Gottmik and Violet Chachki from RuPaul's Drag Race,&nbsp;and porn star Paddy O'Brian, the film follows a husband who ducks out on his wife and sneaks off to his favorite sex club cabaret, where he soon finds his guilty pleasures revealed in a very public manner. After discovering her husband’s unfaithful ways, the film concludes with the wife character becoming liberated by her own sexuality, rather than a victim to the scandal.A modern retelling of the spectacle of cabaret, Sigismondi&nbsp;has drawn upon her&nbsp;upbringing for this - she was born to Italian opera singer parents, and grew up amid the theatrical and the avant-garde&nbsp;- and applied her&nbsp;trademark cinematic style previously seen in her award-winning work for the likes of Gucci, Rihanna, David Bowie, and Justin Timberlake.Choreographed by French dance collective (LA)HORDE, who are famed for their ability to develop scenarios and actions that take up radically contemporary themes and questions, the seductive music video is a visual feast led by a diverse and queer cast.With references to French surrealist photographer Claude Cahun and noted corset maker of the late 20th Century, Mr. Pearl, the video’s costume designer Lisa Jarvis created an impressive range of otherworldly looks for the enormous ensemble, who were cast&nbsp;by Hannah Ashby Ward at Lane Casting (an LGBTQ+ owned company) to showcase&nbsp;real, diverse and unapologetic bodies.&nbsp;Floria Sigismondi, Director, comments: “I grew up in the world of theatre and opera. This film presented the platform for me to reach deep into that history. It was important to me to bring the theatrics and drama to the film while also giving it a modern feel. We were not interested in creating a period piece. We wanted to create our own world. The theatre and setting gave us the history of cabaret but the costumes broadened that and injected a modern element. For me it's a celebration of the LGBTQ+ community and creating that celebration was the most important and joyous experience."Jannie McInnes, Executive Producer at Scheme Engine, adds: “The creative excellence and expression across departments on this project completely blew my mind. Floria sets a high bar, inspires people to bring their most creative selves and she wants everyone to have fun doing it. Dave Meyers directs an emotional and pertinent&nbsp;visual for Anderson Paak's Lockdown.Reflecting on racial injustice, police brutality and the global pandemic, the video is an introspective exploration of how society has reached its tipping point, and a call for systematic change.&nbsp;Featuring cameos from&nbsp;Dominic Fike,&nbsp;Andra Day, Jay Rock, Syd of the Internet and .Paak's son Soul Rasheed, amongst others,&nbsp;Lockdown is made up of several performance vignettes, stylised in a subtle way with offbeat angles and composition, but pared down from some of Meyers' more fantastical work. The intimate performances are the focus here, and the video ensures&nbsp;the issues at hand remain centre-stage.&nbsp;The animation at the end of the video, detailing the names of those killed through police brutality, is a striking wake up call: "The People Are Rising". All cast and crew salaries were donated to Beam, Dream Defenders and Color Of Change.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Shaped unmistakably like a frown, it is home to an all but forgotten fishing village that has had perpetual cloud cover for as long as anyone can remember."The inhabitants of Eroda aren't happy people. The gloomy depression causes&nbsp;people to have a permanent "resting fish face", and are fiercely superstitious, wary about anything that threatens their lives or mindsets.&nbsp;Into this inhospitable setting comes a boy born&nbsp;&nbsp;with a dangerously bright smile, who inadvertently causes havoc whenever he opens his mouth.&nbsp;Styles takes on the role of the boy, who befriends a fish and takes care of it through an escalating number of crazy situations. As he wrestles with his own emotions and the impatient inhabitants of Eroda, will he get a happy ending?It's a hugely ambitious and beautifully executed video, where the attention to detail to styling, wardrobe and production design - and dozens of VFX shots -&nbsp;help to bring the imaginary world to life.&nbsp;Meyers brings what has become his trademark brandof humour in his 'second coming' as a music video director. He is never afraid to explore the absurd whilst still keeping it grounded and emotionally affecting. Great stuff.

Mendes and Cabello, lost souls in a hot city,&nbsp;have a short-lived romance in this sun-soaked vignette by Dave Meyers, his latest collab with Camila.This style of sexually-charged crossover is so well worn, it almost qualifies as a genre. See SparkNotes on Madonna, Drake, Xtina and Rihanna. But watching this video, which is by no means provocative, it may occur to you how safe previous incarnations of this genre have tended to be. Despite being billed (and widely misremembered) as sizzling, risqué videos, they now seem incredibly coy about their subject. Namely, sex. Strong eye contact does not a romance make.In Señorita, Cabello sings about going “back to the hotel”, and then she and Mendes do just that. They have a one-night stand, and are confused about the encounter afterwards. Which feels oddly refreshing. Thanks to their chemistry, and a commitment to the subject of their song, the video sets a new bar for its form.

Moving and gritty, the video directed by Tony Kaye showed images of actual missing children, 21 of whom were then recovered. Collaborating with agency M/H VCCP, Jake Scott has now directed a first-of-its-kind music video that updates with children from the National Center for Missing &amp; Exploited Children (NCMEC) database, based on where you watch it.&quot;I was a fan of the original Runaway Train video,&quot; comments Jake Scott. &quot;It really showed how music has the power to effect change. If one child is identified as a result of this video, then it will be worth it. Let&#39;s hope it leads to hundreds of thousands being reunited with their families or given a new life in which they feel safe, seen and heard.&quot;&quot;The video is a game changer,&quot; says NCMEC President and CEO John Clark. &quot;It highlights critical issue runaways face and will show real pictures of missing children. And the brilliant twist provided by director Aisultan Seitov is that each key family member has their own alternate reality, far removed from the upper middle class affluence of the main scene.These pin-sharp punctuations revealing&nbsp;a more common experience for black Americans actually gives the mansion scenes - where 21 Savage and J Cole perform - richer meaning. This is an excellent video, by an exciting new director, and his DoP, Xiaolong Liu.
