Lewis Capaldi returns to action with Forget Me, and teams up with Louis Bhose to show he is up for a crazy, even mind-boggling challenge for its video -&nbsp;a shot-for-shot remake of a classic video from the early 1980s.Many viewers won't have seen the original when it first appeared - it is over forty years old, after all - but the iconic visual of WHAM!'s Club Tropicana&nbsp;is immediately recognisable in the opening frames of Bhose's video for Forget Me. Viewed through a contemporary lens, this is&nbsp;completely offbeat in the best way. Throw in Capaldi's cheeky personality and Bhose's love for whimsical ideas, and you're onto a winner.&nbsp;It's also something of a remarkable feat. And despite being a carefully structured&nbsp;remake, the video is still full of its own energy and vigour, largely down to the creative crew involved.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;"It's not exactly what I imagine most people had on their bingo cards for 'Big Lewis Capaldi Comeback Vid'," reflext Louis Bhose.&nbsp;"But hey, sometimes you gotta kill yourself precisely recreating a classic paean to hedonism for a melancholy song about second heartbreaks. It was really fun though - a week in San Antonio getting carsick and annoying our excellent local art department ('yes! that's almost it!!')."Hard to single out members of our incredible crew, but everyone went absolutely above and beyond to make the vid the best it could be. Big shouts to Lewis for being up for anything and choosing such an odd idea... And am happy to report that I got heat stroke on the shoot and live in hope that any BTS will never see the light of day."&nbsp;

Avesta Keshtmand directs a transcendent promo for&nbsp;Emma-Jean Thackray.Inspired by the themes and aesthetics of sci-fi, psychedelia&nbsp;and B-movies, Thackray and Keshtmand tell the story of an outsider at a dinner party, full of mass-produced foods and judgemental side-glances. Lost in her own world, Emma-Jean is then transported to somewhere more natural, flowery and free.Oozing a sense of carefree nostalgia, the video is mesmerising to look at, and celebrates the maximalist art and aesthetics of the time period it pays homage to.&nbsp;Avesta Keshtmand is a British-Afghan filmmaker living and working in London.&nbsp;Last year, Keshtmand was one of five unsigned British directors to win a place on Three Minutes,&nbsp;Crack Magazine’s incubator scheme funding five music videos by rising talents. The scheme is produced in association with our production company Ground Work and made possible by Burberry, Shure and BFI NETWORK.

Directing duo Machine Operated have accomplished an ambitious visual concept for Rejjie Snow's team-up with&nbsp;Snoh Aalegra and Cam O’bi - it's Rejjie on a Stranger Train.It's not about the train journey as much as Rejjie's journey along the train - walking through carriages that each contain their own specific world: a tropical jungle with oversized plants; mountainous terrain with masked passengers; even an aquarium.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;“I worked on this idea with my buddies Josh and Nathan [Machine Operated] and before we knew it, we all had something solid and concise enough to deliver visually," Rejjie Snow told Hypebeast.&nbsp;"In short the aim was to distort your reality. [The video] was the world of Willy Wonka for me but on psychedelics.”

Jordan Stephens, once of Rizzle Kicks, plays Tiger, the inveterate stoner who finds himself on a weird, weed-related voyage of discovery in Jamie Whitby's marvellous short film to celebrate the 25th anniversary of a landmark Warp Records release - Nightmares On Wax's Smokers Delight.&nbsp;When Tiger discovers he has been locked out of his flat&nbsp;after a night of serious toking with his mates, it triggers a series of increasingly outlandish&nbsp;episodes - which moves from stoner-noir to full-on acid trip when our hero tumbles into full 2D animation.Music from Nightmare On Wax's classic 1995 album is an unobtrusive motif throughout the film, written as well as directed by Whitby. It is something of a departure&nbsp;from his largely conceptual work in music videos, but it shows that comedy-drama, mixed with a splash of pure surrealism, is his forté. He gets great performances from a talented cast, led by Stephens - possibly channelling Jeff Bridges&nbsp;in Lebowski - and has been rewarded with a nomination at this year's UKMVAs, in the&nbsp;Best Special Video Projects category, for his efforts.

Alexandra Green's video for&nbsp;French musician and producer Oklou is simple, cool, and exquisitely effective.Oklou, dressed in red, sits among black rocks in a blacked-out space, an otherworldly studio set. She performs her Mura Masa-produced song Entertnmnt to camera, as it rotates around her. That's it, more or less.&nbsp;But the contact between her eye and the camera, as it executes a parabola - moving away and then getting closer again as it circles around her&nbsp;- is transfixing.James Rhodes' camerawork is executed so that Oklou is always the centre of attention, while the set -&nbsp;an arrangement of rockery by art director Afra Zamara - is quite&nbsp;intriguing in itself.Overall this is a great example of director and choreographer Ally Green relying on the movement of the camera rather than the subject to grab the viewer's attention.&nbsp;

After a long break, Holly&nbsp;Lapsley&nbsp;Fletcher - aka Låpsley - is back with a new song, and a visual from Camille Summers-Valli that grabs the attention with its beauty and mystery&nbsp;- and riffs on the watery subject of its title.Summers-Valli's eye lingers over remarkable moments for&nbsp;For My Love Was Like The Rain -&nbsp;at a swimming pool, a dancefloor, a country road lit by forks of lightening, the roof of a tall building.&nbsp;The focus of the video is a young girl, and a teenage boy. At the pool, they are serious or stressed; on the crowded dancefloor they are released and happy - and so is Låpsley.With the studied, stills-like cinematography of Maximillian Pittner, and the use of slow motion in these apparently unconnected images,&nbsp;Summers-Valli creates a wonderful dreamlike sensibility, with some really striking imagery.It adds up to strong reintroduction to the artist, with a track taken from her forthcoming EP, These Elements. It's also an impressive statement by Camille Summers-Valli, her first music videos since <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2018/09/11/kenzie-dark-july-funeral-camille-summers-valli/54892" target="_blank">two for Kenzie</a> last year.&nbsp;

Hannah Marshall directs a powerful new music video for Iranian artist Gola, using the film as a&nbsp;rallying call to anyone that has ever defied those who have told them &#39;no&#39;.&nbsp;Gola had to leave her homeland in order to pursue a career in music, having been a member of&nbsp;Orchid, Iran&rsquo;s first girl group, who were banned from releasing music and whose female-only concerts were heavily patroled by morality police, so attendees were not permitted to dance or sing along. Now&nbsp;Gola uses her voice to bring awareness to Iran and the power of women in her country.&nbsp;And Marshall says her&nbsp;visual concept was&nbsp;conceived &ldquo;as an ode to female potency and empowerment. This individual and collective striving is central to the structure of the video.&quot;&nbsp;She adds: &quot;I focused on three zones of the body, each corresponding to a different form of communication: eyes (the gaze), mouth (the voice), and hands (the touch). The clothing both impresses upon and provides gateways of expression for the body. The lived experiences of women are complex and the debates around their bodies often highly charged and politicised. Col3trane ponders the shifting and unpredictable sands of time in Oscar Hudson&#39;s hallucinatory double video for the teenage R&amp;B singer/rapper&#39;s Fear &amp; Loathing and Britney.Taking Hunter S Thompson&#39;s gonzo classic,&nbsp;referred to in the title of the first track, as his jumping off point, Oscar Hudson and his regular cameraman collaborator Ruben Woodin-Deschamps employ&nbsp;some imaginative&nbsp;in-camera techniques for each song, and create a work that tackles the big subjects: life, death, drugs and flowers.&nbsp;&nbsp;First of all, Col3trane finds himself in the desert, his mental state altered courtesy of interesting combinations of camera zooming and pixellation. Then he&#39;s joined by a&nbsp;companion, a Thompson-like figure, transported to the desert after&nbsp;dropping acid, via his bowl of&nbsp;soup.&nbsp;Rather too much acid, as it leads to a decline and demise that Hudson turns into a black comedy of timelapse. And then things start to move back to the beginning...&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;I always wanted to make a double video for Fear &amp; Loathing and Britney,&quot; says Col3trane. &quot;The acid reference is an obvious nod to Hunter S Thompson but it was Oscar&rsquo;s idea for me and the other guy to turn up in each other&rsquo;s trips. Oscar is an amazing talent to work with. The song is about being stuck in a loop that you can&rsquo;t get out of, and he really brought that to life with the visual.&rdquo;

It&#39;s dark and atmospheric, with a great lo-fi visual style, that makes Watchout is a compelling watch.

The camera constantly revolves&nbsp;from it&#39;s position on the passenger seat, and courtesy of motion control reveals the moments&nbsp;of their lives that add up to&nbsp;make a bigger picture. And the moments tell us that it&#39;s getting harder for them all the time.&nbsp;
