Will Young continues to push boundaries in his music videos with this new one for&nbsp;Thank You directed by Nick Bartleet, who orchestrates Will through a group of interesting characters within the visually stunning setting of&nbsp;Porchester Baths&nbsp;in West London.The drama of the piece, and emotions in Will&#39;s relationships with the men of various ages in the steam room,&nbsp;is acted out through choreography. And if the &#39;thank you&#39; message seems at odds with the obvious pain at the heart of the song, the video delivers a proper verbal wallop at the end. Everyone should stick around to see that.&nbsp;Will Young has already commented on the video, saying:&nbsp;&ldquo;I am so very pleased with this video for Thank You. Nick has captured beautifully the emotion of the song and encapsulated an individual narrative to create a music video unlike any other I&rsquo;ve done before.&rdquo;

Ian Pons Jewell takes the director&#39;s chair for the promo to Paolo Nutini&#39;s One Day, the latest single to be taken from his platinum album Caustic Love.Ian&#39;s rather brilliant and&nbsp;lavish video is a homage to the classic Giallo genre of Italian erotic horror films &ndash; and heading up a large cast is none other than&nbsp;British national treasure Joanna Lumley - making her first ever music video&nbsp;- playing an intriguing nightclub singer, who has her own ways of attaining eternal&nbsp;youth.We asked Ian all about the making of the video...How did Joanna Lumley become involved&nbsp;to play what is for her, an&nbsp;unexpected role &ndash; and how did she handle the pressure of a music video shoot?Ian Pons Jewell: We were always intent on getting a known actress for the main role, but it was Paolo&#39;s idea to try for Joanna Lumley as he&#39;s big fan. I was brought up on Ab Fab, so it was a surreal dream come true to work with her. She was an absolute pleasure to work with, but most importantly an incredible talent. She had never done a music video and expressed some nerves about singing the lyrics, but completely nailed it. It was nerve-wracking in the run up to the shoot as there was so much we had to get, mixed with this iconic actress coming for half of the full on day&#39;s shoot. But the whole production was handled incredibly by Residency, my US reps, and&nbsp;Sarah Tognazzi&#39;s next level producer skills.&nbsp;How did you come about the&nbsp;concept of the video, and how does it relate to the song?The idea came about from the first listen actually, an image came to mind of an older elegant singer in a dressing room, singing to herself sadly in the mirror. After more listens the idea of her killing the young dancers to gain their youth was then worked in, using the classic Italian Giallo killer character as her servile hitman. I then worked closely with Dobi Manolova to write the characters in the lounge type area, with her also coming up with the beautiful visual idea of the aerial dancer which gave a much needed energy for that first chorus section. The characters were then fully brought to life by the amazing Ameena Kara Callender who is the costume designer on much of my work.It was a very subconcious connection to the song, but I think it matches well with the final lyrics of &quot;I&#39;ll be gone in a while&quot;. This really pushes the idea for me how this youthful appearance she is addicted to gaining is only ever temporary.&nbsp;I would also like to mention my incredible editor Gaia Borretti,&nbsp;who has cut all my work to date. She actually created a mood film for our initial pitch, with the murder sequence which she cut from old Italian horror films actually informing the final shotlist and shoot.Why does Joanna transform into a younger woman in the latter point of the video?&nbsp;She transforms to a younger woman due to the murder of the aerial dancer. The intention of the montage of other murders was to try to show that it is a ritual, that there have been others, that it is perhaps a nightly occurance. Through wearing the necklace of the girl, she summons her youthful spirit to then transform to a younger version of herself in order to perform one song for the crowd. The backstory is that she is the singer who never ages, a sort of classy circus freak show act.And this is the next video, after Iron Sky, where Paolo is not on-screen. How involved was he in the creative process?&nbsp;He was originally meant to be watching the performance from the back of the space, seeing him subtly in the scene, but was unable to attend the shot due to illness. Though he never stipulated a need for him to be in the video so it worked well either way. I felt incredibly free with the creative, but also due to Dan Curwin who was an absolute joy to work with. They overlooked everything in a very hands-off manner. I think if Paolo is into an idea, he buys into it and lets it fully develop without much interference. I think this is clear with the incredible Iron Sky video.Paolo&nbsp;then wanted more a film look, so Sarah had the idea to get a 35mm print done of the first grade which was all digital, which added a lot to the final look. Ben Fordesman absolutely nailed the look with his beautiful cinematography and Luke Morrison at The Mill then did an incredible job going between the grade, printing to 35mm, then taking it back in for the final colour.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The video for the track Ken! penned by Harry Hill sees Bill Roache aka Ken Barlow play a cowboy in a spaghetti western pastiche.&quot;I knew this was the venue to shoot in after seeing a plaster cast Indian Chief in a local shop window directing me fatefully towards the Lamb Hotel&quot; explains Tom.&quot;Sadly I couldn&#39;t fit the singing moose in but I did manage to persuade Harry to ride a bucking bronco and Bill to dress as a cowboy. Things did get a little strange for Bill as we pulled out two bar stools onto the high street pavement and asked him to pretend to ride through the Arizona plains whilst being eyed by Corrie enthusiasts. To his credit he didn&#39;t grumble. Bravo Bill. He acted the part so well we are thinking about the possibility of Ken! "I really wanted to make a strong beauty piece for this track. Becky, the singer needed to be heavily featured so the plan was to envelop her in an environment that wouldn't only produce that flattering light but also help create a progression in my somewhat obscure narrative. 
"I had a location in mind called Fire in Vauxhall that I had been trying to work into a treatment for a while. It's a club with a backroom called The Lightbox. This space has an arched ceiling made up of over 1000 programmable LED's. It is pretty impressive to look at but even more impressive on film. So with only a couple of days to prep I set about trying organize the programming of this light ceiling so that it felt entirely synched with the track. Dan Solis did a fantastic job of putting it all together in After Effects but due to time constraints we were still putting the finishing touches to the sequence at 4am on the day of the shoot. All part of the fun. 
"We arrived at the club at 7.30am and were completely freaked out by the sight of sweaty clubbers, flyer packs and a string of bouncers waiting to eject the last few stragglers from our location. Pumping techno was still echoing around the almost empty space. This was a Friday morning by the way. Anyway we got on with it and by 8 the space was completely ours. "I was lucky enough to have the extremely talented Robbie Ryan on board as my DoP and after my producer Hannah had skillfully managed to acquire everything on his lighting list with our limited budget we ended up using none of it. Everything in this promo is lit by the LEDs. Me and Robbie are particularly proud of that. Ha ha. 
"The day ran smoothly and Becky was absolutely awesome to work with. She was very responsive to direction and very patient. This was important because we had a technical issue, which meant we could not sync the lightwall footage directly to the track. This meant I had to freestyle it a little on the LED control desk to make it seem more in sync. It was great standing in the DJ booth watching my monitor while fading in and out crazy preset lighting patterns to the track. I felt like a super star VJ! 
"The video is split into two sections. During the first half I wanted it to feel quite dreamy and intimate while trying to avoid revealing the space around Becky too much. In the second half I wanted her to really look like she was interacting with the lighting, almost pushing and pulling it around. The lighting patterns had to appear to be emanating from her touch. It was really important to me that I let my DOP go to town on this. Robbie really pulled out all the clever lens trickery that I think adds a whole other layer to this video. Mad props."
