Luis Hindman continues his successful run of video collaborations with Joesef, this time for poignant track Joe.&nbsp;The video explores the process of letting go of a relationship, told through a framework of a&nbsp;wrecked apartment and the memories which once filled it.&nbsp;Emotionally, things have changed -&nbsp;but physically, you're still in the exact same place.[imgtoken data:1]Capturing a transcendent, illusory vibe that feels snatched&nbsp;straight from a memory, the video documents the highs, the lows and the inbetweens, seamlessly blending a stream of different emotions and snapshots of life together.&nbsp;The exposed, stripped-back location and art direction perfectly reflect the themes in the track, and provide a minimalist structure for the couple's world to inhabit, until it breaks apart.&nbsp;Raw, honest and consuming, it's a standout video, and arguably the best of Joesef and Luis Hindman's collaborations to date.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Luis Hindman directs promo full of yearning for Joesef - set on two different crowded dancefloors.Following previous collaboration for <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2022/02/23/joesef-its-been-little-heavy-lately-luis-hindman/75129">It's Been A Little Heavy Lately</a>, the video for&nbsp;East End Coast sees Joesef drifting through&nbsp;an atmospheric&nbsp;club packed with a mixed crowd of revellers and kissing couples. He is seemingly the only one alone among this hipster crowd, reflective and lipsyncing to the melodic song.The fact that he is pining from a lost love from his hometown of Glasgow is brought home by the introduction of another, slightly less crowded dancefloor, of a gay club - this one distinguished from the other also by the blueish tinge in the grade and a different aspect ratio - with Joesef himself in a smooch with a boy.[imgtoken data:1]It's an evocative&nbsp;display of love and loss, told through an atmospheric and hyperreal aesthetic, beautifully shot by Sam Meyer. Joesef also gives an excellent downbeat performance amid the fevered atmosphere&nbsp;of the London club, and Luis Hindman handles this tricky juxtaposition of the two settings, to bring out the emotion of the song, really well.&nbsp;Joesef told Attitude Magazine that the video was very important to him. "If I'd seen a wee guy from the east of Glasgow necking a lad in a music video back in the day I'd have felt a bit less alone."

Luis Hindman directs a late-night meditation on lost love and blurred memories for Joesef's latest promo.&nbsp;The video for It's Been A Little Heavy Lately follows the artist on a hazy late-night drive, reminiscing about better times and missed opportunities.&nbsp;"I drew on filmmakers such as Wong Kar-wai, Kieslowski and Xavier Dolan for their ability to create heightened-realities and&nbsp;dream-like atmospheres," says Hindman.&nbsp;The intimate, understated energy of the piece perfectly matches the downtempo track, and the effervescent cinematography creates a dreamlike world which feels caught somewhere between reality and fiction. All of this paves the way for a shocking finale, which ends in a familiar place...&nbsp;"The video’s finale is a direct tie-in to a previous Joesef video for Comedown," Hindman explains.&nbsp;"So, yep, this is a prequel of sorts. Trilogy on the cards?&nbsp;We'll see..."&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]Joesef gave a little background to the song itself, and the inspirations that made their way into the visual.&nbsp;"I wanted the song to feel like a bad trip, there’s a lot of different textures; the tempos are higher, and the drums are slightly swung," he says. "It also features a sample from the film Totally Fucked Up by Gregg Araki: the stories he tells, and how he portrays them visually inspire me every day, and fit the context of the song so well."I had to write to him for the sample clearance and he said 'yes', which was fucking mindblowing to me. He’s a hero of mine.”

Ebeneza Blanche dives into Nigerian society with Little Simz and Obongjayar, in the marvellous video for&nbsp;Point &amp; Kill.It was Little Simz’ burning wish to shoot the film in Lagos - which brought her back to the Nigerian capital for the first time since her childhood - and provided Blanche with the opportunity to shoot in Nigeria for the first time. They have fully made the most of the experience with a piece that celebrates African culture, incorporating visual brilliance with comedy, ideas, performance and serious political commentary.The track celebrates a well known phrase in Nigeria, a connection between Simz and Obongjayar and the extension of that to family and friends in Nigeria. Starting with a domestic setting, and introducing Simz as part of the scene, Blanche brings us properly into this world, which develops its own form of magic realism as she rides away on a back of the moped and comes across fascinating groups of individuals, as if plucked from a Lagos photographic studio.This is a fantastic collaboration - Simz and&nbsp;Obongjayar provide the focus and the charisma, while Blanche's eye is exceptional, his use of the stars and the cast is idiosyncratic,&nbsp;and every frame is beautiful. And it moves from the lighthearted into much more&nbsp;political territory, but still in a very artful way -&nbsp;an emerging tableau of a stand-off between Simz and Obongjayar and the police, a reference to the ongoing police-orchestrated violence in Nigeria.
