Riff Raff has&nbsp;announced the addition to their roster of Ehsan, the London-based director whose larger-than-life comedic style has graced work for the likes of BBC, Nike, Google and Coca-Cola, and music videos for comedian Munya Chawawa's rap character Unknown P.With work including Sports Direct's Football Fever&nbsp;featuring Ian Wright, and Google's Speed Challenge featuring Busta Rhymes, Lil Yachty and Lando Norris,&nbsp;Ehsan's films are full of well-known figures in colourful, comedic settings. His defined by a bold, high-energy visual language full of humour and heart, underpinned by a deep commitment to culture, inclusivity&nbsp;and authentic representation.&nbsp;Born and raised in North London by hardworking South Asian parents, Ehsan’s work reflects the vibrant mix of grassroots cultures of his background. His filmmaking started at university while studying graphic design and&nbsp;his student films earned recognition (Tank Magazine, Smalls Award) that led him to direct his first branded pieces, stylized fashion films created alongside A-list photographers.&nbsp;This led to Ehsan heading up the video arm of JN Group, where he was commissioned to direct fashion films such as Burberry, YSL, and River Island. His commercial career gained momentum with a playful ‘SPOT the Difference' film for Louis Vuitton x Kusama, followed by a Vertu commercial that won a Young Director Award, opening the door to high-profile automotive campaigns for BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar, and Lexus.Ehsan has increasingly focused his lens on stories rooted in culture and community. Collaborating with brands such as the NFL, Nike, Pringles, and the Premier League, he has continued to showcase his distinctive visual language, using humour and heart to give voice to the voiceless without taking itself too seriously. Amaarae surrounds herself with a fleet of taxis in another video by Omar Jones shot in the Ghanaian capital Accra.Following the video for <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2025/07/02/amaarae-smo-omar-jones/91661" target="_blank">S.M.O</a>, that was focussed with body image framed within the setting of the African city, the video for Free The Youth adds a level of documentary observation of the local people to widescreen performance set-ups.Amaarae is captured in long shot within the spiral of taxicabs, and also standing atop the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Star_Gate">Black Star Gate</a> monument in the middle of Accra, that&nbsp;commemorates Ghana's independence from colonial rule - and also inspired the title of Amaarae's current album, Black Star.

Riff Raff Films have announced the signing of London-based writer and director Holly Hunter to their Nursery of Evil roster.Hunter is known for creating bold visual worlds&nbsp;in her films, which are fast, playful and obsessively crafted. Her work in music videos includes a spoof Christmas single, starring Holly Hunter herself: the hilarious&nbsp;<a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2024/12/17/holly-hunter-ho-ho-ho-christmas-number-one-holly-hunter/89464" target="_blank">Ho Ho Ho (Christmas Number One)</a>, shot in her village hall, was released last year.Formerly an art director at&nbsp;Wieden+Kennedy, working on award-winning campaigns for Nike, TK Maxx, Lurpak, Sainsbury’s and Sprite before moving into directing, Hunter's debut short&nbsp;Banana Boat, selected for funding by Yarns Film Festival from thousands of submissions. It then won&nbsp;Best Honorary Film at the Yarns screening at the Prince Charles Cinema. Following the fierce polemic of <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2025/07/09/kneecap-ft-mozey-recap-finn-keenan/91773" target="_blank">The Recap</a>, Finn Keenan reunites with Kneecap for their collaboration with Orbital's Paul Hartnoll - and presents the brilliant Jamie-Lee O'Donnell as the office drone unable to get raving out of her head.With the usual intensity of Kneecap ramped up even further by&nbsp;Hartnoll's beats, in the Sayōnara video Jamie-Lee is disturbed&nbsp;from&nbsp;her office duties by visions of uninhibited nights in clubland - episodes&nbsp;that are increasingly blurring into reality. I wanted to capture the visceral intensity of paranoia and intrusive thoughts. Somehow, that 'never again'&nbsp;anxiety of Monday slowly shifts by Friday into a 'Weekend is here. Monday will never happen again!'&nbsp;optimism.Keenan adds that he and the band also&nbsp;wanted to nod to Belfast’s rave history. "In the 90s,&nbsp;raves weren’t just parties, they were acts of resistance, dangerous but vital spaces where Catholics and Protestants came to be together and dance," he explains.&nbsp;"That spirit is what fuels the scene of Jamie Lee driving the pimped-up Kneecap Land Rover across the city - a kind of rave pied piper, spreading the idea that art, music, and creativity can break down the metaphorical walls which are often stronger than the physical ones. Pent-up anger and frustration are released through dance instead of turning into hate."Which is what the ludicrous end of the video is about. I wanted this end scene to be feral! Working with Jamie Lee made this possible. She’s one of the most open, vulnerable and fun people i’ve ever met. Working with her was incredible."We didn't have a choreographer so for the end dance we’d have a chat before each take and then she channeled her own stories and emotions into the performances, each one completely different than the last and each one genuinely left the crew speechless. It was an incredible thing to witness. It's been a tumultuous period for Irish rappers Kneecap - under intense political pressure and immense media scrutiny, gigs cancelled and their appearance at&nbsp;Glastonbury under threat. And now here is a statement - in both the track and the powerful visual by Finn Keenan - about their defiance and resolve.&nbsp;It all came together very quickly, in the days following that blistering performance at Glastonbury, but Keenan's extraordinary visualisation of The Recap - documentary combined with impish animations, political polemic and celebration of their unshakeable support for Palestine -&nbsp;may be the most significant thing that Kneecap have done. And that includes their amazing movie.&nbsp;This is an intense experience, and certainly one primarily for their fervent supporters. Niall Trask teams up once again with indie music's oddest character Jim E. Brown for their most extraordinary collaboration yet - an AI-enhanced reworking of Batman Forever.It's the video for the self-styled Mancunian miserablist's idiosyncratic take on Seal's Kiss From A Rose,&nbsp;which appeared on the 1992 movie's&nbsp;soundtrack. That's the jumping-off point for a striking&nbsp;visual collision of two worlds, as Brown becomes a Dark Knight in his own image, within a distorted version of the original&nbsp;movie.It's weird, funny, and eerily effective - with some quite remarkable images of Brown as the lager-swilling Caped Crusader (and several other characters).&nbsp;Although listening to Brown's pub singer version of the song is a something of an acquired taste. Not sure if Seal will enjoy it so much."The video imagines a Batman universe in which there is less physical movement and more drinking of beer and consuming of fish and chips and pints of beer at pub," says Jim E. Brown.&nbsp;"We filmed the video on the banks of the Thames in London where I saw several nitrous oxide tanks washed ashore. Filming videos is rather laborious and I wanted very much to imbibe nitrous whilst shooting, but the tanks were empty. Once we finished shooting, I did get ahold of some nitrous and beer and got properly pissed and passed out."

Prepare to be conflicted - and knocked sideways -&nbsp;by Niall Trask's remarkable video for&nbsp;Alabaster Deplume, where&nbsp;surreal black comedy meets realistic heartbreaking drama.The video for the jazz musician, composer, poet and activist's song Invincibility is an&nbsp;audacious blurring of filmmaking conventions, where a powerful narrative about a sombre event involving&nbsp;a seriously injured dog, is subverted by the bizarre, dreamlike&nbsp;device of having the dog's head replaced by&nbsp;Alabaster Deplume's.&nbsp;He performs the song that echoes the sorrow and trauma of a mother and daughter as rush their beloved pet to the vet, and endure the inevitable end. That's sensitively but unflinchingly dramatised by Trask - while there are also flashbacks to happier times, with shots of Alabaster (aka Angus Fairbairn) as the erstwhile carefree dog. Which is both funny and also underlines the heartbreak, the onset of grief.It's audacious storytelling - and so sad it could justify a mental health warning. The video follows a stoic figure - vocalist Clari Freeman-Taylor - trudging through a muddy dirt track in the middle of a vast, barren field, carrying a small 1980s television.On the TV screen, a vibrant, expressive version of Clari’s face sings, juxtaposing her impassive expression as she presses forward. Connected to a long extension cable, the TV mirrors the tension in the track as the cord stretches to its breaking point.The textural, abstract aesthetic has hints of expressionism and experimental cinema, which creates an anachronistic, pensive atmosphere.
