For the sparkling indiepop of Southampton combo Thomas Tantrum, Adam Comiskey takes the band on a variety of fairground rides in this animated/performance promo for new single Sleep.
Comiskey: "We had this whole Alice in wonderland thing going on with the band following their CG friend through a fairground. But as the animatic was coming together in parallel with the CG fairground assets it became clear that we could quite easily stick the band in almost every shot riding a variety of attractions.
"The crew at PEW36 animation studios had a little under 3 weeks for the entire production so once the studio shoot wrapped up we immediately started keying the footage. Every shot of the video was captured on Canon 7D's which were turned on their sides to get the maximum amount of data and the footage was added into the edit on set thanks to the speedy efforts of producer Holly Ward."

Taken from their Five Songs For Oscar EP, the spaghetti rock of Pancho Ballard &amp; The Banditos' Cut Throat Of Old Mexico enjoys this lovely animated treatment by Adam Comiskey, complete with gun-toting cacti. 
"Zombies are not a common sight in music videos," explains Comiskey, "So when we saw a brief pop up on Radar requesting a western themed music video with a horror twist, we just had to get involved. Admittedly the budget was not as much as we would have liked, but me and the team had an idea which we were just far too excited about. The band loved it too. 
"This job gave us a chance to have a dabble with digital stubble. The lyrics of the song focus on a moustache, and originally the cactus posse were all going to have massive handle bar moustaches. But as the project was coming together, the aesthetic was starting to look really polished and it evolved into something that deserved to be taken much more seriously than the comedic 'jolly' it started out as. 
"Suddenly the cactus posse became feasible, our test audiences were not even questioning their inclusion. We eventually created an outline for an entire feature film script which then drove the concept of this being a trailer for that film. Our recent trip to the Annecy animation festival allowed us to test the water and as a result we now have some serious interest from potential investors.
"The best bit is that we already know it'll have a kick-ass soundtrack, courtesy of Pancho Ballard &amp; the Banditos."

It's Part Two of Hey Negrita's very own Living Dead trilogy, rendered in glorious CGI by Adam Comiskey and Pew36 - and this one picks up the story exactly where Part <a href="http://www.flynnproductions.com/music/director/pew36/1226/full/">One (Mississippi)</a> left off.
Things move up a gear or three in this one. The claret flows freely (extremely so), and quite frankly, some of the boys in the band might not make it...

"Our goal with film 2 was to create something which retained what is fundamentally of the zombie genre but also paid attention to the flavour of the music. So it had to be more upbeat and slightly cheekier. 
"We have a particular fondness for 70s/80s cheap cartoons such as the Groovy Goulies and Scooby Doo and their economic re-use of their art assets, and this was something we wanted to incorporate into the film.
"People will be keen to find out what the inspiration was for the vomit solo, but I'm afraid this wasn't the result of design by committee or an evolution of ideas. Just the inner dregs from one sick dude..."

Hey Negrita’s Nine to Five by Pew36

A droll combination of low voltage blues gig and zombie horror, captured in blood-curdling CGI for Hey Negrita, directed by Adam Comiskey at Hampshire-based Pew36 Animation Studios.
It's actually the first part of a trilogy commissioned by Hey Negrita frontman Felix Bechtolsheimer for their upcoming album Burn The Whole Place Down. Adam explains below that the next two planned vids will occupy different points on the horror genre spectrum, and confirm how CGI is the ideal expression for low budget horror. In this one the animated Felix makes very good use of his mic stand.

"Hey Negrita front man Felix Bechtolsheimer got in touch with us looking to commission a music video trilogy for their upcoming album. The idea of creating three music videos which would have to be able to hold their own and stand alone movies and yet be combined into a 12 minute short film excited us.
"The cherry on the cake was that we had a pretty much free reign to create what ever we liked.
"Most of the crew at PEW36 animation studios cut their teeth in the industry working on low budget horror films for people like Bob Keen of hellraiser fame and Alex Chandons Cradle of Filth/Fear projects, so we naturally opted to produce a zombie flick and have some fun with the genre.
"The three projects are being put together in slightly different 'takes' on the genre with the second one being more light hearted and tongue in cheek, whilst the third one will be very dark and gritty.
"Our goal with these videos is to demonstrate that CGI has come of age for the low budget horrorist. The genre is perfect for low budgets and CGI is now quick enough and cheap enough to mean you don't have to ruin your favourite shirt with spilt syrup and food dye."
