Directing duo&nbsp;rubberband. have ingeniously crafted the breathtaking promo for Lucky Daye's N.W.A. - the OUTSIDE version -&nbsp;blending physical and digital mediums to create something truly distinctive.&nbsp;This is the alternate version of <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOuos3tU3AE" target="_blank">the official video directed by rubberband for the track</a> earlier this year, where the duo have created a real magazine with stills from the original video.&nbsp;Comprised of just under one hundred individually designed pages, the creative team programmed a robot to flip through individual pages,&nbsp;taking the viewer on a journey through a living, breathing work of art. &nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]Each magazine spread is&nbsp;meticulously crafted, boasting eclectic aesthetics and styling, with an overarching feeling of nostalgia, harking back to the magazine culture of the duo's youth.The seamless combination of physical and digital elements - tied together with brilliant VFX work - results in a visual that is not only extremely captivating, but also truly innovative.&nbsp;By combining different creative mediums such as fashion, editorial, music, and film, rubberband.&nbsp;have proven once again that their creativity and out-of-the-box thinking is an intrinsic part of their filmmaking DNA.

Hector Dockrill directs a heartwrenching promo for new Lewis Capaldi track Pointless.&nbsp;The narrative for the video captures a mother-son relationship with beautiful and heart-breaking intimacy. Spanning a couple of decades, the concept follows a&nbsp;single mother who strives against all odds to give her son the life she never had, and is packed with an emotional punch.&nbsp;With a wonderful performance&nbsp;from&nbsp;BAFTA winner Niamh Algar (The Virtues, Raised by Wolves)&nbsp;and three actors playing the son at different stages of his life - including Charley Palmer-Rothwell as her grown-up son -&nbsp;the video reinterprets the song's lyrics to explore a different type of relationship, and it works perfectly.[imgtoken data:1]The naturalistic cinematography and relatable themes help make the video feel incredibly realistic and universal, and it will no doubt have viewers thinking about their own loved ones as we enter the festive period.&nbsp;With mixed dialogue throughout, we both hear and see glimpses into the ups and downs of their daily lives over the years including financial hardship and the tightrope of being a working single parent. And in keeping with the theme of family, Laura Dockrill – Hector’s sister - wrote the script, making this a family affair both on and off screen.“Lewis had a beautiful idea that focused on the mother/son bond, and how responsibility shifts as you grow older," says Hector Dockrill. "Niamh Algar is a phenomenal talent and we’re already chomping at the bit to work together again. With only a week’s prep, she managed to immerse herself into the role and completely make it her own. It's the countdown to the Year 2000 in this otherworldly promo for Toro Y Moi by&nbsp;Kid. Studio -&nbsp;aka&nbsp;Glenn Michael and Vincent Tran.In an ordinary&nbsp;hospital, we see a group of inpatients anxiously waiting for the clock to hit twelve, but just moments before the big celebration, they turn to see an alien version of Toro Y Moi - aka&nbsp;Chaz Bear - ready to perform.&nbsp;Cue a bizarre performance in the main room, as the two nuns nominally running the place hang about in the halls smoking, play fighting and being unholy, eventually joining in with the party.&nbsp;The brilliant SFX makeup and strange colour treatments - e.g. having the band performance super desaturated as opposed to the rest of the room - help elevate this feeling of peculiarity.&nbsp;Extraterrestrial entertainment at its finest, this would probably be a best-case scenario for alien invasion - and is endlessly enjoyable and fun to watch unfold.&nbsp;

Noah Lee reunites with&nbsp;Danielle Balbuena - aka&nbsp;070 Shake - to make his second mesmerizing&nbsp;and dreamlike video&nbsp;for the New Jersey-born rapper, following their marvellous collaboration on <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2019/08/01/070-shake-nice-have-noah-lee/60087" target="_blank">Nice To Have</a>.In the video Skin &amp; Bones, Lee deconstucts the process of making the video for Skin &amp; Bones, with meta-fictional layering of 070 Shake's own part of the process, and those of the extras that populate the set.After the initial photographic studio set-up - inspired by The Master?&nbsp;-&nbsp;Shake engages in the big video set-piece, symbolically assuming weighty NFL-style shoulder-pad gear, and becoming drenched in studio rain. The extras of all shapes, sizes and ages take up their positions in different scenes as couples.[imgtoken data:1]And then Lee brilliantly defies expectations again, in unexpected ways - both heartwarming and chilling.This is his first video since signing with FRIEND in London for UK representation for music videos and commercials. A disused tube station provides the appropriately atmospheric&nbsp;backdrop for David M Helman's gripping video for Holly Humberstone's London Is Lonely.&nbsp;Sat on a perpetually rotating platform, Humberstone delivers a mesmerizing&nbsp;performance in a single continuous take.&nbsp;As she reminisces about a lost lover, and the loneliness of the big city without them, she completely transfixes the viewer with the emotion and intimacy of her delivery and relationship with the camera.&nbsp;The dramatic lighting transitions and hazy post effects add a haunting, introspective mood, which just does enough to augment the stripped-back concept, ensuring the focus never wavers from the remarkable&nbsp;performance that Helman has drawn from Humberstone in this video.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1][imgtoken data:2]

A day from Hell just won't let up, in&nbsp;Hector Dockrill's tragic promo for Chase &amp; Status and BackRoad Gee.&nbsp;&nbsp;The video for When It Rains features actor Jack McMullen as a down-on-his-luck everyman, trying to go about his day to day life to disastrous effect.&nbsp;It all starts with an antagonistic phone call and a cigarette lit the wrong way, and builds to a high-octane climax full of suspense, blood, chase scenes&nbsp;and the opportunity for the character to finally get the nicotine hit he's gagging for.&nbsp;Brilliant work which anchors on McMullen's performance and a Dockrill's keen eye for narrative.&nbsp;

Hector Dockrill directs the promo Sam Fender’s Get Me Down, an emotional film symbolising the end of a relationship.The video opens with Fender revving a car engine, looking totally exhausted, moments away from speeding around a racetrack.&nbsp;A flashback montage encapsulates the ups and downs of a passionate relationship,&nbsp;flicking back and forth between memories with increasing intensity, before we return to the first frame... Fender hurtles towards a bloody accident, flipping the car, but surviving to tell the tale.&nbsp;Punchy and cinematic, the video has the same raw, authentic feel as all of the artist's videos, with an extra layer&nbsp;of action-packed drama.&nbsp;

James Blake's cool LA life is disturbed by endless reminders that <a href="https://www.finneasofficial.com/" target="_blank">Finneas</a> is much more successful that he is - in Bear Damon's brilliant video for Say What You Will.“The song is about finding peace with who you are and where you’re at regardless of how well other people seem to be doing,” Blake has explained in a press release. “Comparison really is the thief of joy.”The video is really an expression of that theme, but much less earnest than Blake's statement might suggest. Bear Damon does exploit&nbsp;the sensitivity that Blake is&nbsp;renowned for, but for comic purposes. He does so in a&nbsp; series of beautifully judged sequences that serve to crush James's spirits - beginning with him holding a single&nbsp;award at the Grammys, only to be&nbsp;jolted by the sight of Finneas cradling an armful.Who knew that James Blake could act comedy? Bear Damon, presumably, and maybe Blake suspected it himself. There are various elements that make this an outstanding video - not least the (self-mocking) presence of Finneas. It would be nothing without him. But Blake's own performance of&nbsp;quietly crumbling confidence makes it wonderful. It may or may not be&nbsp;truthful, but it's certainly believable. &nbsp;&nbsp;

Jorja Smith plays a cunning car mechanic, involved in a money-making wheeze with her co-star Shaybo,&nbsp;in the gritty and atmospheric video for Bussdown&nbsp;directed Fenn O'Meally - and filmed in Jorja's hometown in Walsall.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;&nbsp;If the sight of Jorja as a West Midlands car mechanic seems unlikely at first, O'Meally makes it work by drawing on various influences and sharp cinematic techniques from Hollywood heist movies, and also closer to home. Initially, it's Jorja who uses her charm to seriously overcharge customers at the auto repair garage. Shaybo observes on the CCTV, before they indulge in their taste for jewellry, as Jorja transforms out of her oily overalls into something more glamorous.[imgtoken data:2]For&nbsp;a song which has an unhurried soulful tempo, O’Meally's command of the narrative, attention to detail&nbsp;and integration of the performances is exceptional. This is a very confident and stylish video by the director - also from the West Midlands - and&nbsp;a great platform for the performers who display their natural personalities and chemistry while inhabiting their fictional roles. The cinematography by&nbsp;Patrick Golan is perfect for providing the fusion of English kitchen sink grittiness and slick music video glamour.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:3]“Honestly, it's been a blessing working with an artist who is so driven, so hard working and so collaborative," says O'Meally. "I knew working with Jorja would be special - two Midlands girls, both who hustle their heart out, from very humble backgrounds, teaming up and showing up is always going to be special. Danica Arias Kleinknecht directs a breezy dance promo&nbsp;for Kito, Zhu and Jeremih.&nbsp;The video for Follow observes an eclectic handful of dancers - including Caleb Bonney and Stephen Ojo from Beyoncé's Black Is King film - as they traverse the grungier side of NYC, performing in tunnels, overpasses and anywhere that inspires them on the way.&nbsp;Beautifully shot by DoP&nbsp;Patrick Golan, the grittier aesthetic and heavy use of contrast&nbsp;is a step away from usual dance films, which often prefer soft lighting and landmark locations. The choice to flip this concept on its head is an inspired one, and makes for a brilliant visual.&nbsp;
