Brock Neal Roberts directs a tender, introspective promo for Arlo Parks' Caroline.&nbsp;Recounting the story of a couple trying - and failing - to make each other happy, Parks is a spectator in this concept, watching and empathising as a&nbsp;torrent of emotions weigh heavily overhead.&nbsp;The video has a gentle, authentic aesthetic, similar to Roberts' UKMVA-winning promo for <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2020/07/27/berwyn-trap-phone-brock-neal-roberts/65800">Berwyn's Trap Phone</a>. His ability to communicate complex emotions through subtle performance and&nbsp;framing - care of DoP&nbsp;Jack Reynolds - is perfectly suited to the concept, and elevates Parks' already transcendent presence on screen.&nbsp;

Ever since his marvellous video for Metronomy's The Bay, David Wilson has been able to make magic happen by the pool. And that's what happens in his video for Glass Animals' It's All So Incredibly Loud.GA's frontman Dave Bayley emerges through wisps of smoke to&nbsp;negotiate&nbsp;the diving board of a&nbsp;swimming pool in a suburban home at night. Yes, once again Wilson is making an English summer appear impossibly glamourous. He also&nbsp;brings us a heightened reality which&nbsp;almost seems nostalgic in its visual crispness.The intention&nbsp;is to capture a moment, and explore it's metaphorical meaning. Shot on both a Phantom and an Alexa, the time when Bayley inevitably enters the pool's water is stretched out to last as long as possible. Time is slowed, just as seems to happen&nbsp;when you dive into cold water - and also when you are faced with the emotional issues discussed in the song.Suitably Bayley also delivers a heartfelt performance to camera in this video that marks a triumphant return by David Wilson to the music video mainstream. A nod too to marvellous camerawork, supervised by DoP&nbsp;David Foulkes.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]

Magical paper waves, a hot red sun, paper clouds and vibrant fishes... Vasilisa Forbes directs Imogen Heap in a setting worthy of a Japanese painting for Shurayo.Working with set-designer and builder Annemarieke Kloosterhof, Forbes has devised a an&nbsp;all-paper constructed set of the kind more normally seen in inventive animation than a live action video.For her collaboration with Guy Sigsworth, Heap stands on the deck a ship on&nbsp;the ocean&nbsp;wave, which passes from day to night and into&nbsp;a storm, and finally leads to a shipwreck. It's a distinctive achievement and&nbsp;Vasilisa Forbes says that she is she is very proud to create this delgihtful video, particularly her collaboration with&nbsp;Kloosterhof.&nbsp;"Talent, magic and a desire to create something otherworldly on a shoestring budget, made this video happen," she says.&nbsp;

Bingo rivalry gets fierce, and then gets a musical makeover in Talk Talk Talk, Eoin Glaister&#39;s latest for C Duncan - and the follow-up to Impossible.It&#39;s nailbiting stuff, as Luke McQueen (also in Impossible) turns bingo caller, and hearthrob of one lady who must beat her younger rival for his attention. The realism of the setting, not so far from the atmosphere of the real Elvis lookalike convention featured in Impossible. Only here, it drifts into fantasy as bingo night becomes a song-and-dance dream, populated by &#39;two fat ladies&#39; and more.&ldquo;The video for Talk Talk Talk,&nbsp;continues in the same vein as Impossible,&quot; says C Duncan &quot;It&rsquo;s off the wall and fun, which matches the nature of the song perfectly. The use of colour and lively imagery juxtaposed with the reality of the setting work well in creating a surreal world that is both tongue and cheek yet emotive.&rdquo;
