Dave Bullivant directs a profound promo for London Grammar's America.&nbsp;The video opens with London Grammar vocalist&nbsp;Hannah Reid sat at the counter of an American-style diner, as the camera begins to pan left and right.&nbsp;The track kicks in, and apparitions of everyday activity appear in the revealing camera movements. As the haunting hustle and bustle unravel in slow motion, the focus stays on Reid's performance, creating a contrasting, stylistic aesthetic.&nbsp;Beautifully shot by DoP&nbsp;Jaime Ackroyd and produced by Joseph J. Goldman, the video is a&nbsp;tour de force&nbsp;of creativity, and a great addition to the body of work by Bullivant for London Grammar.&nbsp;

Lewis Capaldi has released a&nbsp;second, official video for his monster hit Someone You Loved directed by Ozzie Pullin, which sees&nbsp;Lewis star as&nbsp;a heartbroken man in the immediate aftermath of a break-up with his girlfriend – while pals try to stop him from chasing after her.Focused&nbsp;almost purely on performance, Lewis&nbsp;pushes aside the funny, goofy personality we all know and uncovers a broken, vulnerable&nbsp;side of himself.“I wanted to show another side to the song,” Capaldi said in a press statement. “For me the video is about the people we surround ourselves with that have the strength when we don’t and help us continue to make the right decisions in moments of fear or hardship. In the moment we often choose to ignore friends and family, thinking our judgement is better, but of course in hindsight when you’re in that headspace it’s almost impossible to make the right decisions.”Ozzie Pullin's video follows&nbsp;the first one released in February, featuring Lewis's relative Peter Capaldi, which doubled as a promo for the organ donation charity&nbsp;<a href="https://www.livelifegivelife.org.uk/" target="_blank">Life Life Give Life</a>.&nbsp;

Colin Solal Cardo rises to the challenge of directing Robyn’s latest visual - a classic, electrifying performance in a sandy ruin.&nbsp;Robyn's&nbsp;visual canon&nbsp;has a mythical prestige. Before she was a name in the UK, her devastating video for With Every Heartbeat&nbsp;was in heavy circulation; Dancing On My Own&nbsp;wouldn’t be the gay anthem it is today without Max Vitali’s video&nbsp;and the singer's glorious power stance in it; and Call Your Girlfriend&nbsp;is one of the most imitated dance sequences on the internet.These iconic pieces feel like the work of the same artist, but the common denominator is difficult to pin down. But at the heart of these videos are Robyn’s exhilarating performances. Her soprano voice can communicate a range and complexity of emotion in one bar, and these qualities bleed into her dancing. She is simultaneously strong and vulnerable, relatable and inaccessible, dorky and composed.And this is completely true of Solal Cardo's video for Ever Again.&nbsp;Most recently, he helmed a genre-bending project for Christine and the Queens. Here, he had the challenge of directing a video for one of Robyn’s quietest songs, and the result is pure&nbsp;theatre. Dressed in white Louis Vuitton - designed by the creative director, no less - she twists through the room, kicks up sand, then casts herself into it.&nbsp;Robyn has never looked so much like Bowie, and it suits her. If this really&nbsp;is her last heartbreak, it’ll be a great loss.&nbsp;

From alt-J&#39;s striking original idea, Isaiah Seret has crafted an experimental epic for their song Pleader that draws on different artforms&nbsp;and ultimately has nearly spawned a new one. This is a music video that could also described as a short dramatic musical.&nbsp;It&#39;s set in a coal mining community in a South Welsh valley in the early 20th century, and at the heart of it is a young miner and his wife. But their fate is bound up with the decisions made by the whole community, who decide that the woman has to produce a child. In that way, they sew the seeds of their own destruction - but this is just as much about the boy with special powers who is left behind.&nbsp;In the midst there are real scenes of birth and destruction, powerful performances from Sophie Cookson and Morgan Watkins as the couple, and Ewan Hipperson as Llewelyn, their son, and a huge supporting cast.&nbsp;There&#39;s enough surprise and mystery here to keep you coming back looking for answers. And Eoin Glaister gets plenty of comic mileage out of that scenario in this video for Kele from Bloc Party.&nbsp;This is the latest of a fantastic run of videos by Glaister in 2017. After his ambitious trilogies for Aquilo and All We Are, we have come to expect great performances from his work - by humans. Now he shows he can turn bulldogs into stars. A bloody marvellous video.

Finally, closure is upon us! Over two months since part one was released, we&#39;re finally treated to the final installment of Eoin Glaister&#39;s trilogy for All We Are.The video for Dance picks up at the breaking of ground for the new much-hated development that the village has spent the last two episodes trying to stop. Now it&#39;s down to the wire and the village has one last hope; a gang of guerilla girl guides. Vandalism and intimidation are all in a day&#39;s work for them but ultimately it proves to be a fruitless endeavour. Sort of.A few twists and turns and some hilarious character moments later and the story reaches some sort of resolution - though probably not the one anybody was expecting. With two trilogies down now, one can only hope Glaister has a third one planned to make 2017 his year of a&nbsp;trilogy of trilogies.

Eoin Glaister returns with part two of his social absurdist trilogy for all we are, and this time; there&#39;s girl scouts.After setting up a quintessentially bizarre village community in part one and the impending motorway-based disaster that&#39;s destined to hit their town, part 2 exists almost entirely within a town hall meeting that very predictably descends into chaos. Packed full of genuine laugh-out-loud moments (the shot of the old woman fake-crying killed me) and some great exaggerated physical performances from the cast, despite being a single location, the plot moves forward nicely and sets up for a tantalising conclusion to a very British problem.

Focussing mostly on a primary school and its pupils, we see as a young boy tries with moderate success to awaken his friend.The clip shares a&nbsp;cinematic aesthetic laid out in films like Another Earth,&nbsp;or shows like The OA&nbsp;- tapping into otherworldly ideas of ascension in a beautifully paced short narrative piece.
