Once more, as with the first chapter, Gloria Sparks, encompassing the first three tracks and videos of the series, alcohol is the fuel for an explosive encounter on the Sparks homestead. Alcohol and more besides.After the misery of burying their pet dog, Junior and his father's damaged relationship becomes exposed at an impromptu gathering at the house. With the drink and then drugs, and Junior's disgust and his father's behaviour, extraordinarily&nbsp;dangerous behaviour is unleashed.The masterful skill of Phillips is to make this extreme scenario utterly realistic, completely identifiable as part of the cycle of alcoholic behaviour. There are also tremendous, memorable peformers by his actors. It this is another part of the jigsaw of the Sparks saga which has now reached halfway: there will be ten videos in all. It's already turning into one of the great achievements in the music video medium for a long time.&nbsp;

Are you ready for the next chapter? It’s a steamy one. Kevin Phillips introduces us to another generation of the Sparks family, in Part IV of his transcendent&nbsp;family tragedy.Earlier this year, Phillips and The Lumineers began an ambitious visual album: a 10 part drama following three generations of an American family. In a whirlwind <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2019/06/11/lumineers-donna-life-city-gloria-kevin-phillips/59060">trilogy of videos</a>, we met Gloria Sparks, a reckless alcoholic and reluctant matriarch. The character was inspired by a family member of frontman Wesley Schultz, and brought to life in furious glory by Anna Cordell. The trilogy was grand, wittily experimental, and quietly (but often loudly!) devastating.In It Wasn’t Easy To Be Happy For You, we meet her teenage grandson, Junior Sparks. And he meets a girl. Or does he? In a remote field, he shares a joint with a beautiful stranger and gets in his car with her. The temperature rises a little too quickly. And as she walks away into the middle-of-nowhere, removing her vest, we see a strange symmetry between this stranger and Junior’s grandmother.The youngest member of the Sparks clan is a curious character, portrayed with bumbling, Chaplin-esque discomfort by Charlie Tahn. He will make two more appearances in Leader Of The Landslide&nbsp;and Left For Denver, released later this month.Phillips and The Lumineers set themselves an formidable task with the Sparks story. And thank god they did. A project of this size and ambition could have lost steam very quickly. But there hasn’t been a dud in the bunch. Both the band and director continue to innovate their respective forms, and in the process, surprise and delight.

Eva Michon plays up to the pulsing beat of Right Hook with a sweet and simple visual about a girl that starts to see the ceaseless tempo marked&nbsp;everywhere she turns.&nbsp;It starts with women&#39;s ponytails as they run&nbsp;in&nbsp;the park. In a daze, it follows her to piano class, where she teaches a young boy to play at the exact tempo - only realising when she looks up at the metronome. By the end, she takes control of this obsession&nbsp;and does what any sensible person would do in this situation... hit the club.

Without giving too much away, we&#39;re left here to ponder the protagonist&#39;s yearning and wonder what could have been.A beautiful video both thematically and visually (which considering 90% of it takes place inside a taxi is no small feat).

After a long time focussing on their commercial work, Arni and Kinski show what music videos have been missing with this lovely&nbsp;showcase&nbsp;for Norwegian singer Aurora.The Icelandic directing team made their name with unforgettable videos for their countrymen&nbsp;Sigur Ros more than a decade ago. Now they have returned to their homeland to provide&nbsp;the setting for I Went Too Far, and to frame a powerful symbol of the emotional torment and regret&nbsp;at the heart of the song: a seemingly endless ladder, emerging straight out of the sea, and from a mossy cave.Beautifully shot by DoP Kevin Phillips &ndash; who travelled from Mexico to work with Arni and Kinski on the project &ndash; the locations provide the video with that unmistakeable otherworldly quality that not only works for their visual device, its perfect for the elfin Aurora. She&#39;s quite&nbsp;otherworldly too, and (as with her previous videos) she&nbsp;gives a tremendously heartfelt performance here. She could turn out to be the real thing.&nbsp;&nbsp;

"The idea was to create four separate short films that could be edited together to give a quick glimpse of the Killers comeback," says Giorgio about the project.
"The band came back together in the studio after a four year hiatus during which each band member embarked on solo projects. So my idea was to follow them individually - in and outside of their Battle Born Studios - and finish the film with a climactic performance from the reunited band."
