Raman Djafari combines live action and animation to brilliant effect in the extraordinary new video for the brilliant Ashnikko - creating&nbsp;a Mad Max-esque dystopian landscape to transform the pop star into a monster truck-wielding hero, fighting off robot overlords as she navigates a strange new world.In an intense bombardment of visual imagination, Djafari fuses his signature aesthetic of texturally rich CGI with the unhinged, transgressive ambitions of Ashnikko, to create a wonderful, weird, high-octane action movie.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]The influences on the video range from painters Bruegel and&nbsp;Carravagio, to Bjork, to&nbsp;90s animes like Neon Genesis Evangelion - but you really have to watch on repeat to catch everything that is going on.Djafari worked closely with Ashnikko and her creative director Vassu Vu in conceptualising the video for Worms - which takes the distinctive style of his&nbsp;previous work -&nbsp;such as his massively successful video for Elton John and Dua Lipa's Cold Heart - into a whole new dimension.[imgtoken data:2]"I wanted to create a vast world that stretches way beyond the bounds of this one music video, like there's an abundance of stories waiting to be told," says Djafari.&nbsp;"I indulged my love for creature design and developed dozens of individual characters, monsters, robots and a huge monster truck. Dexter Navy&#39;s&nbsp;video for A$AP&nbsp;Rocky&#39;s L$D (Love $ex Dreams)&nbsp;is a captivating and dreamy&nbsp;lightshow of strobing,&nbsp;vivid&nbsp;colours and brilliance set in&nbsp;the streets of Tokyo.It&#39;s an&nbsp;extraordinarily&nbsp;fluid&nbsp;creation from the 24-year-old photographer and filmmaker, who takes the viewer&nbsp;on a journey with&nbsp;A$AP Rocky and his girl, through&nbsp;all the good &ndash;&nbsp;and the bad &ndash; of a very trippy night out on the town. Once in a great while, you find a true gem among performance videos. They&#39;re difficult to do well for a number of reasons, sometimes purely because a band may not be all that interesting to watch live. But then, the stars align to bring a video chock-full&nbsp;of lush visual energy to your browser window, and you can&#39;t help but crank the volume up as high as it&#39;ll go.Disclosure&#39;s new &#39;F for You&#39; is exactly that. Directed by Bullion&#39;s Ross McDowell and Ben Murray, a simple, back-lit performance quickly explodes into a hypnotic graphics-laden LED trip. With infectious energy from the duo&#39;s music as a backdrop, &nbsp;the video moves from silhouettes to sci-fi hyperdrive projections, as shards of light cut through a pristine soundstage. It&#39;s more an&nbsp;experience&nbsp;than a video, a taste of what Disclosure has brought to dance floors on both sides of the Atlantic.What a fitting concept, then, considering that Bullion created some of the duo&#39;s initial videos - for Control and Latch &ndash; just before their explosive, chart-topping growth into one of the most talked-about and most-played groups found in grimy basement clubs and top-shelf music blogs alike.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Featuring a cast of sixteen models/actors, Ben Murray and Ross McDowell&#39;s monochrome, evolving promo for Disclosure&#39;s Control premiered on Youtube four days ago and already has garnered over 45,000 hits.It&#39;s another video from the prolific Bullion collective, following their Little Boots video for Headphones and Summer Camp&#39;s Always (by Ollie Evans). And Ross McDowell&#39;s previous work includes co-directing the highly amusing Beardyman <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/2012/02/02/beardyman-big-man-by-chris-cairns-and-ross-mcdowell/" target="_blank">Big Man</a> video with Chris Cairns.

In the video for illustrator and musician Keaton Henson&#39;s fragile lament Charon, a puppet character slides towards a final release by his own hand - not the happiest of subjects, in all honesty, but invested with wonder and no little creativity - as you&#39;d expect from David Wilson, working here with John Malcolm Moore and Keaton Henson himself.
Having worked with Keaton on the promo for the Japanese Popstars&#39; Let Go, David was invited to join Keaton and John to help to develop a concept the pair had conceived for Charon. Keaton&#39;s work as a designer and illustrator was the jumping-off point for the film, the style and tone evolving from his dual creative impulses in music and art. &quot;We wanted to reflect the darkness of the album and give the songs a face without a video of me feeling sorry for myself, so it felt right to have a puppet as representation of me instead.&quot;
So the brilliant puppetmaster Jonny Sabbagh created the heartbroken character who ends up ending it all in a variety of ways, the filming taking place over two days, with a very cold Richmond Park providing the exterior woodland shots and interiors captured in a rather colourful hotel in central London.
&quot;Jonny did a fantastic job,&quot; says David. &quot;I spent an intensive afternoon working on the performance with John, who assumed puppetry duties on the shoot. We managed to construct a journey that the puppet would go through in his mind over the course of the track, so that every expression was the result of his internal thought process rather than a response to the lyrics - just like how actors work.&quot;
