Stanley Brock directs an engrossing promo for Potter Payper.&nbsp;Tracking from left to right through a series of contained domestic sets, the video sees Payper and a cast of characters in their natural environments, interweaving narrative vignettes with intense&nbsp;performance shots.&nbsp;It's a powerful concept, influenced by society at large and the artist's journey to date, and the careful attention paid to design and executing the concept elevates the visual to one of his best yet.&nbsp;Another excellent addition to&nbsp;Potter Payper's impressive videography, and another demonstration of the skills of&nbsp;director Stanley Brock.&nbsp;

Jay Green goes next level with his trippy and very stylish vision for the first release from Nothing But Thieves new album.&nbsp;The video for Welcome To The DCC ambitiously sets out to give familiar references a new twist, and create a dazzling showcase for the band's new slick pop direction. Aesthetics of Blade Runner bleed&nbsp;into a Michael Mann-esque world where we follow characters around the dazzling DCC - an alluringly luxurious club which nonetheless may not be exactly what it seems.&nbsp;&nbsp;The viewer is put on alert from the first moments, as the video is framed as a near-future commercial (or content film) for the mysterious club:&nbsp;on-screen pop up ads appear throughout selling the lifestyle and environment of the DCC. All very intriguing and fun, yet with an undeniably&nbsp;sinister undertone.Jay Green has used all his hands-on experience of VFX as well as directing and editing to fulfill the concept. As a result the&nbsp;video is a pulsating, retrofuturistic&nbsp;tour de force. Otis Dominique presents a darkly romantic vision for VX Duse's prism.&nbsp;Taking inspiration from the song's title, the chromatic, hypnotic aesthetic contains an abstract narrative, focused on love, exploration and nightlife.&nbsp;&nbsp;Interweaving intimate indoor vignettes with a portrait of the haunting streets outside, the video meditates on stepping outside your&nbsp;comfort zone, and grabbing what it is you want firmly with both hands.&nbsp;

Eoin Glaister captures the erstwhile ambitions of a frustrated smalltime DJ&nbsp;- played by BAFTA-winning actress Lauren Socha - in his return to music videos for Liverpool DJ-producer Mentis.Glaister&nbsp;captures the tragi-comic trials and tribulations of Kent’s premium mobile party provider, DJ Debs - played with real pathos by the superb Socha - in the video for Excuses, featuring Kate Wild.&nbsp;Her dream is to be a proper superstar DJ in Ibiza. The painful truth is that she is playing children's parties and weddings... if she's lucky.It's a classic comic storyline of the hapless wannabe, whose dreams of fame bear no resemblance to the reality. But in this case, it's made all the more poignant and funny&nbsp;due to Lauren Socha's performance&nbsp;- and by the fact her character begins to realise that she is not destined for stardom. She becomes increasingly disillusioned by her situation - but it's then when things finally start to turn around...&nbsp;Eoin Glaister has done a wonderful job with a great part for a superb actor and a down-at-heel setting that works perfectly for the narrative. Shot on 16mm, using an Arri SR3, this was achieved on what EP Hannah Bellil describes as a&nbsp;"three day escapade with a really close knit team" in the more run-down towns along the Kent coast, which allowed Socha get up to some seaside hijinks, including an 'Ibiza dream sequence' with a&nbsp;jet-ski.&nbsp;“We had so much fun making this," adds Bellil. "Lauren is an amazing talent and the opportunity for Eoin to build in dialogue with her was a total joy. However, I didn’t get to go on the jet ski, so I will be going back... to Ibiza this time.”&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]
