Christian Lamb examines the synchronicity between man and nature, in his brilliant promo for One Republic.&nbsp;During shooting, Lamb found himself and his production team fleeing eight locations across three states because of the California wildfires, before Google Earth landed them at Washington state’s Ruby Beach and Hoh Rainforest.Shot with OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder and dancers Matthew Gibbs and Courtney Scarr, the video&nbsp;reflects two halves of one mind.&nbsp;Matthew’s movements are&nbsp;technical and methodical, whilst Courtney’s are&nbsp;free flowing and intuitive, echoing both the song’s lyrics and their surroundings.&nbsp;The striking landscapes and breathtaking performances encapsulate the haunting energy of the track, which was composed as a soundtrack for new Disney+ film&nbsp;Clouds.&nbsp;“The Pacific Northwest always felt right,” says Christian Lamb. “We just needed a little luck.”&nbsp;

Mark Pellington demonstrates just why he is regarded as a music video directing legend, with his remarkable 11 minute &#39;music film&#39; for Imagine Dragons&#39; Next To Me.&nbsp;This is an intimate story of a relationship on a grand and tragic scale, which Pellington has told with a bravura brilliance that recalls the experimental style that he pioneered in his videos in the Nineties, and then brings it bang up to date.Imagine Dragons&#39; frontman Dan Reynold&#39;s highly flawed character is framed in the first minute by a searing speech of condemnation by Aja Volkman, Reynold&#39;s wife in the film and in real life. What follows incorporates a terrible crime, delivered in dramatic detail, but also becomes a stupendous fever dream, as we start to believe in Reynold&#39;s character&#39;s rehabilitation and release. Only to realise this is not how things pan out...&nbsp;&nbsp;Next To Me is a story of love, loss, mistakes, regrets, and redemption, and an inspiring example of a brilliant director being given the scope to practice his craft.

RMV Productions create a trippy 360 lyric video for Imagine Dragons, with creative director Peter Reeve utilising the band&#39;s artwork as his inspiration for a 360 environment.Animator Jim Howells developed the album artwork in Cinema 4D into a full 3D environment; adding a space-field, lightning and crazy space horses.&quot;We had a lot of fun creating this trippy visual, which the label loved as well,&quot; says Reeve. &quot;As soon as the band&#39;s manager saw the first preview he replied &#39;this is dope!!!&#39;, which we knew was a good sign.&quot;&nbsp;To get the full effect, this should be&nbsp;watched on mobile or using Chrome web browser.

NORTON uses his background in VFX to excellent use in his&nbsp;video for Danny Brown&#39;s 25 Bucks, featuring Megan James from Purity Ring,&nbsp;combining practical and CGI to create the impressive time slice shots throughout.&nbsp;Danny and Megan interact with these freeze-frame vignettes from his life - with everything from plates to money being tossed around&nbsp;- in a series of steadicam shots. The sort of thing that used to require motion control.NORTON explained to us how it&#39;s done...PN:&nbsp;How did you get&nbsp;the idea for your Danny Brown&nbsp;video?NORTON: When I was listening to the track, it felt almost like Danny was painting different scenes from his childhood. The imagery became so vivid in my mind that I thought of this sort of ghost-of-Christmas-past kind of trip.&nbsp;Initially it was just sort of a visit to a museum of Danny&rsquo;s memories in which Danny was the tour guide. But&nbsp;it became something more in the treatment I submitted, where Danny actually interacted with objects in different scenes. When Megan and Danny leave, the visit was over, the play button was pressed and this inevitable past would try to catch up.&bull; How did you achieve the FX in the video?It was a combination of practical effects on set, basically objects hung with wires that were removed in post, together with CG objects that were 3D tracked and composited into a scene. For instance, in the final money shot, we placed real bills on young Danny&rsquo;s hands and also a couple of bills rigged to the table so that Danny could pick up what looked like floating bills; then in post, VFX house Varnish added CG bills to the scene.&nbsp;When the camera turns to Megan, that gave the production design team a chance to run in and out and remove the real bills rigs and throw lots of normal bills on the table for the actors to interact with.In other scenes, the effect was simpler. Like in the mom smoking by the stairs, where we just added CG smoke that was tracked in and composited.
