But the payoff is more than worth it.&nbsp;Boasting feel-good vibes and a lively atmosphere, it's a great little video - and Sam Ryder's charming performance really ties the whole thing together.&nbsp;

Van Alpert mashes up a few classic movies, and movie&nbsp;genres, in the terrific video for Interpol's Toni.Featuring Gabriel Perez and Ally O'Neil as a pair of star-crossed lovers who are on the run from a mob of all-dancing denim-clad gangmembers - while being observed by Interpol frontman Paul Banks as a world-weary cop type - it's fun to figure out the movies that have influenced the video. And wonder which one is Toni.A fabulously cool dip into old school Americana from artist and filmmaker Alpert, director of the Machine Gun Kelly's video for My Ex's Best Friend, that won an MTV VMA last year.&nbsp;

Muse are back with their first release in four years - and immediately at full throttle -&nbsp;with Jared Hogan's sci-fi epic for Won't Stand Down.&nbsp;The video sees an ancient woman masked with vocalist Matt Bellamy's face, drawing power from a faceless army and transcending into an augmented being.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;From the futuristic art direction through to the&nbsp;seamless VFX and dynamic cinematography, the video is a tour de force&nbsp;of creativity which builds to a rip-roaring, intense climax. And the&nbsp;haunting silicone mask the lead character wears jumps right into the uncanny valley, and makes for an uncomfortable viewing experience in the best way.&nbsp;Like every Muse video, there is an important message bubbling under the surface, this time focused on standing up against bullies and oppressors. Filmed in Ukraine - producers MrMr teamed up with Shelter in Kiev for the production of the video - the concept perfectly encapsulates these themes.

justfriends - aka Scott Perry and Tucker Bliss - direct a tapestry of human interaction in the introspective video for Forever and a Day.&nbsp;Frozen in snapshots of the daily grind, an ensemble of characters all take stock of their lives and situations, whilst coming to terms with the fact that this really could be it. Life is short, messy and complex, and doesn't always go the way you want it to.&nbsp;Reminiscent of the weird realisations we all have from time to time - we are in this moment right now, living and breathing - the cinematic aesthetic elevates the emotion to a new level, landing somewhere between charming and existential crisis.&nbsp;Beautifully photographed by DoP&nbsp;Mika Altskan, many of the shots have a surreal and uncomfortably intimate vibe to them, achieved through the repeated push-in camera movements as the video progresses.&nbsp;

Drama 'Forever and a Day' by justfriends 

Nelson De Castro directs a&nbsp;story of self-reflection for Waze &amp; Odyssey's Always, that toys with viewer's perceptions - and is not diminished by referencing the&nbsp;classic video for the original track.&nbsp;Utilising a seamless blend of practical and digital mirroring effects, the concept for De Castro's video for the remix of Always - written by Stevie Wonder in the '70s, covered by George Michael and Mary J Blige in the '90s - takes place in a diner, where De Castro playfully switches between different types of doubles. At first it's mirror FX, and then the mirror breaks down,&nbsp;interweaves and disconnect (literally) at cleverly timed moments.The beauty of the video lies in how the skill&nbsp;of the choroegraphy, and the&nbsp;cast - led by the Huber twins, Allison and Veronica&nbsp;- gently emerges.&nbsp;Eddie Inda's wonderful art direction helps hide the subtle transitions, creating brilliantly surreal copies of clocks, sprawling menus that overlap corners and intricate coffee stains.Combined with DoP Jeff Leeds Cohn's complex yet striking cinematography, De Castro has orchestrated&nbsp;one of his most successful videos - particularly in this director's cut. Here, he also includes excerpts from George Michael and Mary J Blige's own remarkable video for Always - by directing duo Big TV!"We designed, built and cast a perfectly mirrored world, down to the last drop of spilled coffee." he says. "It allowed us to intercut simple digital-mirror effects like an on/off switch." It's a mesmerising, thoroughly entertaining&nbsp;trip.

Cliqua and Stillz direct a hyperactive, colour-drenched visual in Yokohama, Japan, for Bad Bunny's Bichiyal.&nbsp;Exploring drag-racing culture in Japan, the video focuses on a female racer going about her daily routine, preparing to face-off against a ruthless male rival.&nbsp;The vibrance of Tokyo seeps down into the small port town in which this was filmed, creating a contrasting gritty yet pop-culture vibe, very suited to the enigmatic Bad Bunny.&nbsp;DoP&nbsp;Chris Ripley takes a frenetic approach to the camerawork, filming in a handheld documentary style for most of the visual, whilst utilising a few action film-style whips and pans for the climactic ending.&nbsp;

The almost obsessive attention to detail in these vignettes is artistic and transcendent, echoing the power and beauty of the present moment.&nbsp;The artist is introduced in the second half, through an ambitious one-shot, pulling away to reveal a treasure trove of memories and snapshots of his life.&nbsp;

We've been here before, most memorably with Beastie Boys' Intergalactic. But Eoin Glaister puts a whole new spin on a classic Japanese monster&nbsp;movie trope for Joji and Jackson Wang.So&nbsp;Giant Lobster (or Crayfish?) - played by Joji -&nbsp;is causing terror by smashing through&nbsp;the city. It&nbsp;must be saved by Jackson,&nbsp;stoically operating his Giant Robot. Battle ensues amid the cardboard skyscrapers, to the unseemly delight of Jackson's girlfriend.But just when we think that Giant Lobster is vanquished, having been summarily poleaxed by Robot, there's a twist in the tale. It's very sweet - a kind of 'snowflake' revisionism that will enrage&nbsp;neo-conservative lovers of Godzilla films. So that makes it great.What's more, there's also room for an enjoyable epilogue of Joji and Jackson having great fun, mock-fighting on set - until Joji's magnificent lobster/crayfish outfit starts falling apart...
